"Les Arlots is a perfectly pleasant, small bistro in the marginal 10th. While reports point to gentrification, it isn’t yet intuitive that one walks the streets in complete comfort, although any such concerns are probably unjustified. Very small, 28 seats, 22 in the street front main barroom, an unlucky 6 in the corridor between the kitchen and dining room. Earnest, dedicated, frenetic staff, friendly and bilingual. Largely French middle class, plus what seem like young neighborhood regulars. Small blackboard menu. Not unlike 25 others of similar character and history. For inexplicable reasons, Les Arlots hit the February New York Times lottery, followed by the Alex Lobrano blog and the Financial Times. Must have been a slow news day. Why and how some restaurants experience such remarkable and unique good luck while others languish for years in obscurity remains a mystery of the food (and journalism) worlds.FoodFive or so enticing first courses: white asparagus, beef cheek terrine, beet salad, fresh pea soup. Of the plats, the most popular, a house made sausage, was out by the time we ordered. Dish after dish appeared all around us at tables which ordered earlier. With a choice of five, being out of one at 8:45 is a serious failure. That left entrecote, cod or lemon sole meunière on the bone, but easy to filet, drenched in too much butter. For dessert, wonderful cheese plate, chocolate mousse or strawberry crumble. No wine list per se. Sommelier/manager asks what you would like, brings to the table several options, all reasonable in price. Our Cahors was right on at 29€.ServiceFriendly and totally in keeping with the intended character of the restaurant, but frantic. Hold onto the silver and pass the plates. PriceA la carte. Very reasonable. Entrees 10€- 16€; plats 22€; desserts 9€. For 2, 124€."

Simple bistro with rustic decor that offers a reducted but qualitative map. The ox lasagna was very good. She's made home, we smell the freshness of the pate. A very good address to eat good and fresh without ruining.

A very good home-made kitchen, classic but very well executed. The fish cooking was on top, the dessert was delicious. The frame is sober and rustic but we eat well. In short, I enjoyed myself even though at the beginning I had come to taste the one saying best purée sausage from Paris according to fooding. Dessert dish at 23€. I recommend if we're not many because the room is small. Language of calf input

Make a reservation(not like us). Fantastic meal. We did not have a reservation on a random Wednesday night and they were fully booked. But they told us that we took a place and maybe a reservation that ran late would not show. While we were waiting, we were offered a lot of wine and made to feel at home with their generous hospitality. Finally we gave a table and had some of the best wines and easy the best food during our time in Paris. 5 stars for the whole team. Thank you. Ver carta

Like so many others, went here due to the NY Times article first night in Paris. Made a reservation through concierge at Westin Vendome, our hotel, for opening time. Enjoyed ourselves immensely. Yes, very cozy; yes lots of help with menu on chalkboard; yes, solid wine choices. Both had sausage/mash and chocolate mouse. Best ever for both. Sausage was a combo of three meats. Yes, a fair number of other Americans were there, too. Place was full and turning away people 45 mins later. Lots of character and the owners are wonderful welcoming personalities.

Just before the Paris Marathon, I agreed to treat our daughter and some friends who were running in the marathon to dinner. Les Arlots was recommended. I advised them that one of our party was blind (yes, he ran in the marathon, too). Couldn't have been nicer. Good suggestions on the meal. I had octopus appetizer and duck. Octopus was sliced thinly (looked like carpaccio, really) and duck was great. They also helped with a good wine within our price range. I used my broken French but there was a waitress who had worked in VT so she explained everything to us. Small place but nice and easy walk from Metro.

We booked lunch at this restaurant from the UK and timed it so we could walk there after arriving on Eurostar at Gare du Nord. When we reached the restaurant a misunderstanding had lead to them expecting us almost two hours earlier. No fuss was made about that. In fact sincere apologies were offered and as the restaurant was full they brought two stools up to the tiny bar and gave us complimentary wine and fantastic terrine until a table became available. The atmosphere was wonderful, the food was wonderful and as the only large-ish table of people included a man playing his accordion, it could not be more authentically French. A truly superb start to a great weekend in Paris. Ver carta

A colleague who lives in Paris took me to this restaurant: it's a few moments away from Gare du Nord. My colleague says that the place is really getting a good reputation and on this showing (he's also been before and knows others who go there regularly and says it is consistently excellent) you can see why. The atmosphere was great, the food was absolutely superb, the service was friendly and excellent, and we left the choice of wine to the staff, who knew exactly what to bring for each course. The menu is sensibly small - four or five choices for each course - and is written onto a blackboard. What comes out of the kitchen is really classy. Eat here: you will not be disappointed. But do re...

I had read good reviews and felt the journey from St Germain was worth it. We made a mistake of getting off the train at Barbes Rochechouart, felt quite threatening and we didn't think it a good idea to take out the map!Hoever, we were guided to Poissoniere station on our return and that was very easy, safe and the best bet.The restaurant is not very big, has a lovely atmosphere and you should book. Many customers tried but failed to get a table. All of our food, from endive salad with roquefort and nuts, homemade sausage and fillet of John Dory were excellently cooked and beautifully presented.Service is laid back, really helpful and friendly and offered an excellent wine choice. There isn't...
