"If you want an authentic experience of the typical Auvergnat cuisine in the hinterland of Auvergne, this place is for you! Hard to find (GPS recommended), but worth the search. Despite its out-of-the-way location, be sure to reserve; when we went there was not a...free table the entire time we were there, so far has its fame spread. And with good reason. I ordered the potee auvergnate, the local equivalent of corn-beef-and cabbage for the Irish. It consisted of healthy amounts of potato, cabbage, carrots and smoked pork( all in a tasty broth. It was far more than I could eat; there was probably enough to share with my wife. The sign says we do not offer doggy bags but when no one was looking we brought home enough for another meal. The ambiance is superb as well; you are in a sort of chalet as if in someone's home. Despite the plentitude of the meal, we could not help ordering dessert, and were not sorry. The trip there over the col Robert and Mont-Dore etc was almost as good as the meal that awaited us. It is not far from Sancy where you can take a cable car to the top of the mountaiin, but we gave up on that plan when we saw the cable car disappear into the mist shortly after leaving the departure point. But we did go to the summit at col Robert with its desolate wuthering-heights like atmosphere. In this area, the alndscape seems to change every few hundred yards or so, so a very varied trip."

"We're on March 20. My companion and I decide, the time of a prolonged weekend, to flee the hustle of the big cities to take a bowl of fresh air in the countryside. we leave Clermont-Ferrand behind us and set off on Mont-Dore to make a beautiful hike in nature. problem, traffic on the road delays our arrival. arabica elongated coffee and oat care are not enough to hold our stomach. We have to stop to get some food before we attack our journey. so, by pure chance we fall on the gift camillo. What a pleasant surprise we had. on this spring day we thought we would find in Mont-Dore pâquerettes and other seasonal flowers. but at no time we had considered to see bloom in our taste buds a myriad of flavors. That's why we take the time to write these few lines, to convince you to go there. Although, we are aware of it, these words never allow us to describe precisely the sensations we had the chance to feel at the don camillo. A.R."

"a visit to the Auvergne for a 3-day hike to the sancy, we sought to take a little courage before climbing. Well, badly took us! attracted by the correct rating on trip advisor, we did not take the time to read the comments associated. So we arrive in a nice hostel with a nice decor, and that's where everything started. We waited about 10 minutes at the restaurant entrance before someone cares about our presence in order to assign us a table. a warm welcome as a night of 31 December at the top of the elevest, but we pass, we all have days with and days without. So we order two truffles. We are brought to the table a kind of dauphinois gratin not good, which fills the garlic, in which we search for cheese, which has a taste rance, and whose potatoes are for half not cooked enough. all accompanied by a ham probably industrial, cut into roughly thick and hard slices. Anyway, the worst truffle we've ever eaten. dessert side, or saying "homemade" the auvergnat cepe. two industrial meringues on a vanilla ice ball with melted chocolate. It's visually pretty, it's letting itself eat, but it clearly doesn't catch up with the horror of the truffle. Brief, a dessert menu served in almost 2 hours, a record! one thing is safe, if you are looking for a real truffle, go your way and do not hesitate to do a few kilometers more to find a real restaurant!"

"Si vous voulez manger autre chose que la fameuse truffade et bien n’hésitez pas à découvrir ce restaurant italien . Malgré beaucoup de monde en salle et juste 1 serveur, le pizzaiolo et une personne en cuisine …le service est fluide avec un peu d’attente. Pas mal de locaux ce qui est bon signe , en plus possibilité de prendre pizza à emporter si vous préférez manger chez vous ."

"Wishing to make a hook-up we stopped at lunch at the capuchin. the reception is medium, the map offers local varieties but be careful it is expensive I say that because I compare with the hostel of the mancelles much cheaper and better quality in terms of taste. For example, I took a truffle, the truffle is served in a frying pan a gigantic amount! I suspect her aspect that she was served on several occasions. No overcooked cheese cream...To finish on the menu at 19 € the proposed dessert and caramel cream, raspberry white cheese or ice cream, I ask for an ice cream the waitress tells me that it's not in my menu. Are you sure? Yes, I'm sure I know my menus. I'll take the card soon after it's registered. disappointed."
