"This is a charming little restaurant that only seats 12 people. The interior is intimate, well-lit, and tastefully decorated. I had the meat teriyaki dish, which was absolutely delicious. I make sure to visit this restaurant at least once every time I am in London. Update: There is now a section downstairs that can accommodate more people. Also, the restaurant's name has changed from Lingo to Nala. The menu remains the same, and the food is still excellent in 2019. However, due to some language difficulties, the waitress misunderstood my order and brought me a Bento box instead of my beloved beef teriyaki. Unfortunately, the Bento box had very little beef teriyaki and many other items that I did not enjoy. The restaurant kindly reduced my bill by £3, but I left feeling hungry."

my man and I visited nala for the first time before two weeks. we found everything delicious, especially sushi and prawn gyoza. we wanted to come back last week, but the place was full! Today we had luck and got a table in the restaurant. we ordered the prawn tempura, the prawn tempura roll, the prawn gyoza and the nigiri mix. as delicious as before. this place is a jewel. worth visiting.

Loved this restaurant. The food is authentically Japanese and the atmosphere is really friendly. Visited three times out of out four days in London because it was so good. Feels like a really family run diner and just like something you'd experience in Japan. The...staff put up with my awful Japanese and we had a lovely conversation about the sake and the fact that we should visit Nigata next time we go to Japan for the best sake! My favourite restaurant in London, bar none! 美味しかったです。どうもありがとうございました! Ver carta

On Saturday, we spent the day in the office, which was not very exciting. By late afternoon, we were done with our work and hungry since we hadn't eaten since breakfast. Around 4 o'clock, we went to Soho with the intention of treating ourselves to sushi at Kulu Kulu, only to find out that they didn't open until 5 o'clock. Luckily, Lingo was open nearby, so we walked in and sat down. The service was a bit slow, but we had the place to ourselves, creating a nice, quiet atmosphere. We ordered a variety of dishes to share, including a seaweed salad with a delicious dressing.

I ordered the Seafood Ramen at this restaurant, but was disappointed with the experience. The seafood was overcooked and seemed to be just Tesco Frozen Seafood from a bag. The bamboo shoots tasted like the packaged ones from the supermarket, and the half eggs were cold and overcooked. The noodles were not homemade, but also not the quality I expected - they seemed like the pot noodles you can buy at a Japanese supermarket. This was the worst Japanese food I have ever had. If the restaurant doesn't know how to prepare it properly, they should not include it on their menu.

"The decor of the restaurant is really lovely. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. We placed our orders quite briskly. We received complimentary bread and olives, which was a nice touch. Our Bruchetta starter arrived a whole hour after we arrived, which was disappointing and far too long to wait for a cold and easy starter. The menu did not specify that the prawns on one of the bruschettas were raw! The waiter said service was slow because they were busy with Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Clearly not prioritising paying customers, who pay a 12.5% service charge, unlike online customers. Eventually, our main courses arrived. My pasta was only just cooked, so close to being undercooked and hard. They ran out of ricotta and replaced it with the tiniest amount of cheese so I asked for some more. Since ricotta was supposed to be the main ingredient of the dish. The tuna steak was lovely, and the veal could have done with a thinner breadcrumb batter. The sides, chips and zucchini, were £4.50 and very small portions for such a cheap side. So that was slightly disappointing. Overall, the pinot grigio white wine was very drinkable, and they brought tap water when we asked for it. And the whole staff were very polite. It was a shame the service was so slow, and the food could have been better for the price that it was. We also felt it was overpriced for the location it was, zone 2 London and not in the West End."
