Fun evening with the family on our first night in Pontresina. Food was very good, especially the veal. Service was friendly and very attentive.

exceptional food and wine! better than many meelin restaurants. the area very cozy place, we did not reserve ourselves, but we found a table and I am very glad that we did.

We ate here twice whilst in Pontresina lunch in the bar one day and dinner in the restaurant one night. The service was great friendly and informative and the local dishes were delicious. I particularly recommend the capuns!

Charming dining room, rustic decor, good service, somewhat formal. The menu is Swiss with local choices like capuns, and Italian with various pastas including pizzocheri, a buckwheat pasta that is a staple throughout this part of Switzerland and northern Italy. Good wine list. Prices somewhat...expensive.

another great restaurant in pontresina. frankly, I think the culinary scene makes this city a great home ground in the opposite. we started with some very tasty salads and wein. we both ordered vegetarian main dishes- my was a wonderfully aromatized gnocchi that had a cheese cream sauce to die. my wife had a unique Latezli court, which was also very, very good.

As a staple of the local hospitality scene, Hotel Bernina owed to itself to transform an erstwhile Stammtisch' pub into a gourmet restaurant specialising in local dishes. If you want to move away from the run-of-the-mill fare of steaks and starches and give the regional...cuisine a try, this is the place to be. Hearty pizzocheri, succulent gnocchi and kapunz, the tastes are as varied as the names are exotic to most. You can choose to sit either in the wooden Locanda' part or in the more stylish restaurant. good service and wine selection. Three thumbs up!

käsefondue is not a traditional Engadin court, but on our request our host in the hotel albris hotel bernina recommended for a wonderful cheesefondue for our last night in pontresina and it was! we were greeted with names, sitting in cozy wood...paneled stubli on the right side of the entry instead of the more formal dining room on the left side, and served as honored guests. we had a mixed salad, very tasty heusuppe (we have again good and wonderful traditional cheese fondue, complete with small glasses from kirsch to dive which we also ordered. one of our favourite meals in 2 weeks in Switzerland!

I visited Locanda, the less-formal side of the Hotel Bernina dining room (same food, same waitstaff), and had a nice Italian red, some very good pumpkin and carrot creme soup, and an ample portion of Bergell-style rack of lamb with green beans and potatoes, all...topped off with an espresso. Nice place, excellent service, and an English menu is available to resolve the puzzles on the menu (food names are often fiendishly difficult, especially when you get past the common staples). The tab was a bit steep, however, coming to CHF 74. Yes, I know Switzerland is expensive, but that seemed a bit over the top. We're not talking about a Michelin star restaurant, or a place that's gotten 16+ Gault-M...

I ate twice here during a recent trip with my husband (September 2016) and also twice here 3 years ago while traveling by myself. I highly recommend this place, particularly after a day of hiking (or skiing). As you walk in, you can choose the...right side room--rusty and more casual, or the left-side room--more formal but still relax. We tried both and liked both. One important thing to note is that the main course is complete with a good size protein main (beef, fish, etc plus plenty of vegetables and starch. So if you are not extra hungry, you only need to order a main course. I ate meat and my husband fish--both were very good. I particularly liked the spinach (and a lot of it to my liki...
