"I agree with many others that the location of this restaurant is great, and the shop itself is very surprising with its variety of items. However, the menu was disappointing. It seemed to cater more to a pretentious crowd rather than the regular or tourist customers. My family of four, who are usually not picky eaters, found the dishes to be underwhelming. The soup was particularly bad, tasting like dishwater, and the portion of fries with parmesan was so small that my 8-year-old needed more. We also had to request more butter for the tiny scone, as it was rationed to a 1cm cube by the manager. The prices were high for what we received. I would recommend visiting the location for its ambiance, but eating elsewhere. The staff appeared unhappy, possibly due to pressure and disagreement with management decisions, which ultimately affected the customer experience. Overall, this restaurant has the potential to be great, but unfortunately falls short."

Went for coffee and cake, waited 40 minutes for a table, good coffee, not so good cakes dry, clearly not home made. Very disappointed!

Braitifil location on the Lich Leven, nice view. We enjoyed the great time and sunny weather with friends, coffee, ice cream. Busy place on a Saturday afternoon, big shop, nice stuff and delicious farm food. Recommended!!!

Sandwiches were pre-made and limited in choice. Only one staff member was serving, leaving Quinn feeling overwhelmed. Another older staff member didn't offer any assistance and didn't acknowledge the queue of waiting customers.

My family and I frequently walk around Loch Leven, and when we had relatives visiting from England, we planned a trip there. The café restaurant by the lake is a great choice for a meal after a walk. We enjoyed delicious soups, coffees, and cakes. The soups are always intriguing - we tried the sweet potato with lime and it was fantastic. They offer a variety of well-made cakes and the coffee is top-notch. It's the perfect spot for a light lunch to warm up after a walk.

It has been a while since I have been here, my sister-in-law and I went this Sunday. The menu wasn't great, and neither was the actual food when it finally arrived, we had soup, and as no one took our plates away, which must trigger the mains coming waited almost an hour for our mains when we pointed out we had been forgotten we had them within 10 minutes, the chicken in the burger was very dry they just seem so busy and under pressure since my last visit. I won't be rushing back soon.

Signage is non existent. They say they are dog friendly but they are not. I was turned back from reaching the cafe through the shop and told to go around the building with my dog. No signs. We met 3! other dog owners who had been similarly treated and had ended up putting their dogs back in their cars. They were very helpful which contrasted with the staff. The staff were unfriendly and we were not made welcome, even in the outdoor area with our well behaved dog. Overpriced and underwhelming food. Not a good experience. Ver carta

Arrived around 11.45 on a beautiful sunny Saturday morning. Found a seat outside as it stated that there was table service at the table we were at. Three servers were all standing idle at the doors to the restaurant indoors, never brought us a menu (I had to get one myself off their table while they were talking), took an age to notice us (it wasn't particularly busy), stated that they couldn't offer us a brunch (finished at half 11), and could only offer us soup as they couldn't take orders for lunch until 12 (it was 11.54)?! When they brough the food out (which was really nice), they came without bringing cutlery, asked if we wanted anything else, we said cutlery please, and we were told t...

Went to the Greenhouse area for a snack lunch today with a friend. Asked for the soup which was advertised but none left. Server offered to get something from the restaurant but did not know what was on offer. When she found out, it was a very poor pretentious choice. Selection of sandwiches bagels was the same, not the sort of food I eat. In the end, there being nothing else I liked, I ordered a diet coke and a cheese scone (it was tiny). The two items cost and extortionate £5.00. I have a Live Active discount card which I tried to use but server refused to take it, said it was out of date (it was not as I used it elsewhere last week). My friend used her card and it was accepted! Why would...

"We stumbled across this place on the last night of a fortnight in Scotland and couldn 't be more glad that we did and that they had space. We were seated promptly (underneath the fan thankfully considering the heatwave), asked whether we 'd eaten there before (we hadn 't), had the menu explained to us (suggested 3 tapas per person) and then left alone briefly to consider the menu. Once ordered, drinks were delivered in a timely fashion, followed by breads dips to tempt tide us over until our tapas arrived. It wasn 't very quick, but I didn 't think it was unduly long either just the right length of time for non fast food that is being prepared freshly. And when it arrived, we were delighted as it was delicious! The only slight disappointment was that salted cod wasn 't available, but that was soon forgotten. My personal favourite was the poached chorizo in red wine with honey glaze, but we were happy with all of our options (patatas bravas, haggis balls, pinchas de pollo, spinach chickpea stew, haddock in red pepper sauce and Spanish tortilla the latter really made by the spicy tomato salsa on the side). 5 between the two of us would probably have sufficed, which would have meant I had space for one of the ice creams, but in hindsight, I 'm glad I didn 't. Excellent service, delicious food, our best meal of our holiday. We probably won 't be back (living in Birmingham and all) but definitely would if we were local."

"This place has all the potential for a 5 star experience and you may well have it by going here! Unfortunately, we did not and it's worth explaining why. For context, we didn't stay overnight just had a meal in the restaurant one night and went to the beer garden another. Restaurant: Food was generally very good and prices reasonable. I'd especially recommend the tempura chard if it's on the menu! The setting of the restaurant is also lovely. However, we ended up waiting about an hour between starters and main meal 2 people . We were advised approx 40 minutes into the wait that one of the mains was no longer available and a substitute would be provided there was some gnocchi improvised from potato mash involved. Service were on top of this though and did remove this item from the bill. So in summary, good elements involved but a couple areas that could do with attention. Beer garden: We went along to the beer garden to catch the rugby world cup final. This was sadly quite a disappointing experience that ended up with the limited attendance clearing out before half time . In short, coverage only started after national anthems. No sound other than via headphones ?? , which didn't work ?! . Pizzas were pretty tasty but the cheese was stringy as a ball of yarn positive with no cutlery or tissues provided negative . And at c. £16 per pizza, felt a bit cheated by the whole experience. The rooms themselves look lovely and I'm sure on a summer's day if you're looking to enjoy some drinks and a bit of food in a lovely setting, the Taybank probably covers exactly what you're looking for! They also run a traditional music session in the main bar on a Thursday evening, which is absolutely worth checking out! But I'm afraid for us, it's unlikely we would rush back for anything other than that."
