"We visited this pub for lunch and were pleasantly surprised by the variety of dishes on the menu, as well as the lunch specials board featuring a variety of sandwiches. The food was served hot and tasted delicious. I enjoyed the crayfish crab pasta with creamy sauce and garlic bread, while my husband had the gammon with all the trimmings. We also shared a bread and butter pudding, which was quite filling. The prices were good value for money and the staff were friendly, smart, and polite. The pub was clean and nicely decorated, with a welcoming atmosphere. We heard that Wednesday is steak night, which is a must for meat lovers. We will definitely be back!"

Came here at 7pm on a Saturday, and were disappointed and surprised that they had ran out of the first 3 things we tried to order. It's understandable that restaurants will run out of items now and again, but at the start of peak service on a Saturday night to have ran out of the first 3 choices we try to make from the menu is ridiculous. There was no apology for this and the service was very slow. The food was nice, but the service and management was poor. We won't be returning. Ver carta

We had heard this pub was dog friendly so arrived without booking. The friendly young staff gave us a very warm welcome and we had choices of sitting in the bar area or outside with our two dogs. The lunch menu was varied and delicious. We both had sandwiches the fish finger ciabbata and pork, apple and cider gravy roll. They were served with triple cooked chips gorgeous! We were very impressed and will be back! The doggies enjoyed their treats and the sweets in the jar on the bar were a nice touch.

We were looking for a lunch stop-off en route to taking our daughter back to Lincoln uni. We found the Lord Nelson by chance and we're so glad we did!!Although we were eating late on a Sunday, everything was available and the choices were as interesting as they were delicious! The starters were all beautifully presented and the halloumi and mini toad in the hole were definite favourites. The Sunday roast was excellent! Plenty of meat, tasty vegetables and the most delicious gravy! We'll definitely be back!

Waitresses were pleasant , however, the quality of food and the price did not match. We had Sunday Lunch, roast beef. The beef was tough, even the Broccoli was tough !! The Yorkshire pudding was more like a crispy dumpling. Did explain all this to the waitress when she asked was everything all right ? No response !Now I don 't mind paying for good food but on this occasion I did not receive it. We also had to ask for every thing, condiments , horseradish, water. For £13.95 per.head I would expect the meal to have been at the very least to be acceptable this one was definitely not. Ver carta

Met friends who had booked a table for Sunday lunch. They had booked it because they had two small dogs, and was advertised as dog friendly as long you ate in the bar area and not restaurant, which is fairWe all had a threes course lunch, with most of us having different food on all courses.Every meal was excellent. The the staff were helpful and attentive. Would highly recommend this pub/ restaurant and will definitely being going back. The pub has real ales as well, wish was well keptOn leaving ,being it was Easter Sunday we were all given a little chocolate egg, really nice touch I thought.

Lunch with friends and pooch. Nice welcome, but menu not as advertised on website. Not the end of the world. Service ok. Food very flavoursome but the portion size was shockingly small. Brisket chilli served in nice sized bowl full of rice but the tiny blob of chilli can't have filled a desert spoon. All carb, no protein. Not great for nearly a tenner. Pooch welcomed and fussed over, given a bowl of water on request and the doggie biscuits were a lovey touch. Trouble is I could have dove with the biscuits in my chilli to supplement my lunch. Could have been perfect. Such a shame. Went home hungry. Pooch happy though.

"I’ve just realised I’ve been visiting The Beck for over 20 years now for both drinks and meals with friends and family and I’ve never written a review! The Beck for me is home from home and I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve visited. They say a business is only as good as it’s staff, and maybe this is why The Beck has lasted so long with a reputation for a relaxed atmosphere good food and good service. The staff here are friendly, caring and professional, I’ve never been anywhere where I felt so at home as The Beck. Edward, Julie, Theresa, Kieran and not forgetting Trish in the kitchen make the place what it is! In 20 years I’ve never had a bad meal here, the food is excellent, and today did not disappoint. I was treating my parents and wife to a belated Mother’s Day and Dad’s birthday meal out, I had the lamb roast which was sublime and my dad had the blade of beef which in his words was “melt in your mouth” good! My Wife had a chilli and my Mum had the flat bread, which were also very nice and portions are plentiful. My daughter has Dairy and Soya allergies and wanted sausages and mash however the mash had butter in it so they made it with chips instead, she also cleared her plate! If you want to go somewhere with a nice warm friendly atmosphere and excellent food at very reasonable prices then The Beck is definitely worth a visit."
