"We’ve been coming to Sam’s for years. A visit to Fowey isn’t complete without at least one dinner at Sam’s. There is nowhere else that offers the combination of fresh fish of the day dishes, burgers, excellent decor and a banging rock soundtrack that they have. It’s the coolest place in Fowey. "This is a great pub with delicious food, located in a fantastic spot. It is dog friendly and a wonderful place to enjoy a meal, drinks, and unwind. The Fish Pie was amazing! The food and drinks were excellent overall, especially the burger and fries we had the first day and the unforgettable fish pie the next. The service was top-notch and the location couldn't be better. I highly recommend this place."

"Didnt start great We had booked 3 days before but when we arrived they hadn 't got us down, and blamed 'having a wedding ' as the reason they hadn 't written it. They did (literally) squeeze us in though. Fantastic food a seafood platter and antipasto sharer went down very well... All a bit crammed in like sardines though, to the point where the guy behind kept bashing into me! Also wasn 't keen to see people seating their dogs next to them on the outside seats paws on the table! The toilet signage made me laugh.... I was 'swettie ' but that was the heat of the day (see picture)"

"My girlfriend and I dined at this restaurant on a Monday evening, which is not typically a busy day. However, we arrived at 6:30pm and it was the last available table! The front of house manager greeted us warmly and handled a small issue with our reservation effortlessly. We were seated in a cozy area and offered drinks while our table was prepared. We quickly received glasses of Prosecco along with the menus, and they asked about any allergies—I mentioned my dairy intolerance which they noted. Soon after, we were led to our table with a beautiful view of the estuary, where our wine was waiting. A lovely amuse bouche and bread (with butter and oil for me) were served to start. My partner enjoyed a sweet potato foam, while I had a smoked salmon and caper dish (dairy-free). Both were delicious. Our smoked mackerel starters were equally delightful, one with a dairy foam and one without. Our main courses arrived in a timely manner and were both beautifully presented—roast cod for me and chicken breast for my partner. The dishes were all delicious. We finished our meal with an Irish coffee and a panna cotta, both of which were superb. Overall, it was an outstanding dining experience with impeccable service. Many Michelin-starred restaurants could take notes from the Old Quay House. We can't wait to return. "We were unexpectedly blown-away by the food at this delightful, unassuming restaurant. The menu is 'world fusion ' and everything we had was creatively conceived and expertly executed. The Thai chicken curry was one of the finest I 've enjoyed. Great cocktails too especially my frozen margarita. The small courtyard garden is a pretty haven, and everyone was super friendly and welcoming, including to our dog. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip to the South West."
