"This isn 't a restaurant for special occasions, as there are elements which make it unsuitable for that. If you want a quiet meal in peace, like no thudding music, this is a good one. As you are seated you are told of the time limit on your table, which can spoil things and if you are taking someone on a special occasion, such an announcement can ruin the occasion. The restaurant is good for conversation as there is no thudding music and the people (other diners) are civilised. No uncouth instagrammers taking pictures and posing, and repeating that again and again. The other diners were there to eat. Service was excellent, the lady San San was a really lovely and attentive waitress, as were some of her other colleagues. The food did have an 'MSG ' type taste and though 'good ' the food was not actually really memorable apart from the Mango Pudding, which was really good. The food I would describe as average. It is a clean restaurant, quick service and nice staff. I give it a 3 because of the statement they make as you are seated and because the food is not that great, sadly."

Thoroughly enjoyed this authentic Chinese restaurant. Great service and a lovely atmosphere. The place was full, reflective of their good food.

This hidden gem located in the residential area near Parliament is fantastic. The staff was very friendly and the food was exquisite. A special thanks to our waitress, Sansan (I believe that was her name), who recommended some great wine and food options. We will definitely be looking for that wine at our local store when we get back home. Thank you to everyone!

when I remember my culinary experiences with ma la miruan, I think: these were great meals, smooth service, with a beautiful authentic air and a great price to fit. ma la sichuan is specialized in modern Sichuan cuisine in my former house door from westminster. the Sichuan cuisine, when they are new, brings fat, spicy aromas due to the liberal use of garlic and chili peppers in the region. This restaurant is certainly off the beaten track but it’s always very busy, and we’ll worth the effort to get to. Although it specialises in Szechuan cooking there dishes for those who like their Chinese food less spicy. The menu is varied and has some unusual items on offer as well as more mainstream ones. The soft shell crab is fantastic as is the shredded chicken, and the chicken in black bean sauce and wok fried chicken are very good. The staff are attentive and the place runs like clockwork thanks to the lovely Lisa. Looking forward to our next visit.

I am a big big fan of Sichuan cuisine and found this gem by googling. My favourite dish is usually the Kung Pao but I didn’t know it was called Gong Bao here and hence missed it! I picked the lamb with cumin instead and it didn’t disappoint! The flavours were amazing. The noodles were great as well. Even the kids really enjoyed everything and most dishes are not super spicy making it easy for most people. Staff was nice and attentive. (Multiple waiters were always checking if we needed something from afar) keep in mind it isn’t cheap and portions are rather small but a total must see.

We booked a table for 6 people for a friend's birthday on a Saturday night. Our daughter works in Victoria and recommended this restaurant to us. The food was amazing, especially the mixed starters that we shared. We opted for the set menu and also ordered some noodles on the side. The set menu included crispy aromatic duck, which was delicious. What really stood out was the exceptional service from the staff. They were constantly cleaning our table, refilling our water and wine, and were willing to accommodate any request. Overall, this restaurant is a hidden gem and we will definitely be returning. Absolutely sensational food with an authentic taste. But unfortunately we were let down by a miserable waitress. We were visiting a good friend in Westminster. So we decided to visit the restaurant for the first time after reading all the great reviews. We were sitting at the back of the restaurant as it was quite busy on this day. We tried the fragrant chicken and ma po tofu. We loved the food but was really let down by an older waitress wearing a red waistcoat. She was extremely rude and miserable. Apart from her I would definitely give 5 stars. We would love to come back as long as she won't be servings us.

I arrived at the restaurant just in time, but had to quickly return to my hotel room. Despite arriving later than my original booking, the staff were accommodating and provided a table. The Sichuan food was delicious and authentic. I started with the steamed dumplings filled with pork, which were tender. For the main course, I had the Dry Wok Pig Intestines, which had a delicious and spicy flavor. The service staff were friendly and kept providing fresh water for the spicy food, which was appreciated. I ended the meal with a Black Sesame Ice Cream, which was a refreshing dessert. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant in the near future.

"The decor of the restaurant is really lovely. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. We placed our orders quite briskly. We received complimentary bread and olives, which was a nice touch. Our Bruchetta starter arrived a whole hour after we arrived, which was disappointing and far too long to wait for a cold and easy starter. The menu did not specify that the prawns on one of the bruschettas were raw! The waiter said service was slow because they were busy with Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Clearly not prioritising paying customers, who pay a 12.5% service charge, unlike online customers. Eventually, our main courses arrived. My pasta was only just cooked, so close to being undercooked and hard. They ran out of ricotta and replaced it with the tiniest amount of cheese so I asked for some more. Since ricotta was supposed to be the main ingredient of the dish. The tuna steak was lovely, and the veal could have done with a thinner breadcrumb batter. The sides, chips and zucchini, were £4.50 and very small portions for such a cheap side. So that was slightly disappointing. Overall, the pinot grigio white wine was very drinkable, and they brought tap water when we asked for it. And the whole staff were very polite. It was a shame the service was so slow, and the food could have been better for the price that it was. We also felt it was overpriced for the location it was, zone 2 London and not in the West End."
