"I have visited for many years and have watched this Tea Shoppe change and evolve. There are lots of parking spaces for your cars or bike, so they are safe. The Owners and Staff are extremely courteous and go over and above to give you...a warm welcome on arrival. The atmosphere is really warm and pleasant inside the Tea Room and sitting outside in summer is equally as nice to relax and enjoy your time there. During winter there is a marquee to cover the garden and patio heaters, if you want to sit outside with your pets. The menu is varied for the season and their specials offered for lunch are a delight. However this is one of the best places around for a fabulous breakfast. The produce is locally sourced and exceptional. A recent addition of the degree coffee is welcomed and with their home made cakes and scones on offer is definitely not to be missed. I also have a local Business and recommend my clients to eat and drink there each week and I always get good and positive feedback. Some of my Clients drive back to the village after their stay with us, just to re-visit the Tea Shoppe and enjoy their exceptional homemade cuisine. I would highly recommend a visit for their consistency and such stunning surroundings to relax in. Dont forget a visit to the new Flower Shop too, the flowers are absolutely stunning ! . Thank you."

Went on Saturday afternoon. Shown to table. Completed track and trace form. Then they forgot about us. Others came in after us and placed their orders. Could understand if they were busy but not the case. We thanked them on the way out and were...thanked ourselves ????

Visited today for Sunday Lunch today about pm and found it was not very busy. Ordered Sunday lunch with coffee and thought it was a little bit expensive. Service was quite prompt and the beef was the best I’ve tasted, and I mean ever....Simply beautiful so it was worth it. If I have one criticism it would be the food was not hot enough, merely warm so I’ve marked the food down a little but it was delicious. Ver carta

The male owner had an attitude problem and a problem with cyclists. He shouted over to me that he did not want cyclists in his cafe. We had spent over the other staff were polite and helpful but this was very badly let down...by the male owner or manager. All the customers in the garden could hear him shouting at his staff inside which was very disappointing, I will be taking my business else where I’m future.

We booked the Shepherds Hut at this location for a Short stay. Our hosts were wonderful and helpful. The Shepherds hut was comfortable and the surrounding area tranquil. The Shepherds hut was next to and old Cart pond with some wildlife. The hut has a...short walk to it's own toilet and showers. It is also next to the Tea Shoppe which offers a good selection of freshly made food. It was a shame the tea room is closed on a Monday and Tuesday.

Went there on the back of not getting a place at Reg Taylors in Southwell.(Which is excellent). Thought it's Wednesday so should be price during August. (First mistake it wasn't). Ordered a couple of cappuccino coffees (Only available in cardboard cups) and the quiche....It came with a bowl of new potatoes and some salad. Me and my wife looked at the soggy pastry and had a bite, it was shall I say the worst quiche we have ever had, and the salad was gritty. It was so bad! It was the one of the hot days in August and we didn't have the energy to complain so we just left. I know I will get a response saying why didn't I complain. But should you have to on such basics? On a positive the staff w... Ver carta

We visited during a party on a lovely midweek day. It was clear from the outset that the staff could not cope with a social gathering and the usual cafe guests. A new member of staff had very little knowledge of the trade and no...idea of the food on offer (not a good start). We had a long wait, sporadic service with drinks and food arriving all at different times. No explanations given. All in not up tp scratch. Can I suggest that for the more elderly guests that staff are at least receptive to allowing the use of cutlery and easy hold cups/glasses? It isn't a big ask but makes life much easier all round? If the family are happy to provide this then what is the big issue around this? Not pl...

We were camping locally and wanted to eat out with our friends and family within walking distance. We visited yesterday as a booked party of people. Caroline the owner was extremely helpful when we were booking and as we were a large party we...Pre booked our orders. We we’re all sat together in the side room. All the staff were extremely welcoming and the service was very prompt. The food all came out at the same time and we didn’t have any complaints at all. I had the beef cob and it was beautiful, followed by scone and jam We visited the next day for bacon batches and we received a lovely welcome again and delicious food. Andrew the owner also recommended a local campsite for our next ho...

"I’ve just realised I’ve been visiting The Beck for over 20 years now for both drinks and meals with friends and family and I’ve never written a review! The Beck for me is home from home and I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve visited. They say a business is only as good as it’s staff, and maybe this is why The Beck has lasted so long with a reputation for a relaxed atmosphere good food and good service. The staff here are friendly, caring and professional, I’ve never been anywhere where I felt so at home as The Beck. Edward, Julie, Theresa, Kieran and not forgetting Trish in the kitchen make the place what it is! In 20 years I’ve never had a bad meal here, the food is excellent, and today did not disappoint. I was treating my parents and wife to a belated Mother’s Day and Dad’s birthday meal out, I had the lamb roast which was sublime and my dad had the blade of beef which in his words was “melt in your mouth” good! My Wife had a chilli and my Mum had the flat bread, which were also very nice and portions are plentiful. My daughter has Dairy and Soya allergies and wanted sausages and mash however the mash had butter in it so they made it with chips instead, she also cleared her plate! If you want to go somewhere with a nice warm friendly atmosphere and excellent food at very reasonable prices then The Beck is definitely worth a visit."
