"my partner and I were eating at the juni in the maredo hamburg and it was very disappointing. we already know the maredo from berlin and are delighted with the quality and outstanding service in Friedrichstrasse. We ordered our food, both fillet. At first we got the brot that is always served in advance with (I think) sour cream ... this cream was probably not in order where the waiter carlos immediately removed this, but no new supplement. then our food came. my partner got the wrong meat ( hip instead of filet) he was asked if he didn't want it now? what he didn't agree. so his food went back to the kitchen and I had to eat alone. the night had gone. after about 15 - 20 minutes the missing food came and the ordered chimichuri was missing. which we then only charged when the calculation was made. pity that the attention of the waiter carlos so lacked and for us the food we were so happy to go back. the food itself is still very delicious. lob to the chef!!! **"

Not impressed at all by the food and service. Everything tasted virtually the same, or better to say everything had almost no taste.

was already in some maredos and unfortunately the visit in this restaurant was not a culinary highlight. ordered my meat medium and well done. I didn't cut me in portions. coleslaw was good.

the outside area is now bigger and we could eat outside with great weather. unfortunately the meat (rumpsteak) was not as good as we used to (something cartilage). the sweet potato puree is simply pointed. the service was completely in order.

Ate here tonight. Nancy and I had steaks. She a filet and sirloin for me. It could not have been cooked any better. I had also the salad bar which had lots of variety and deserves an A+. Pleasant environment too. Michelle was our table...server and did a great job. Ver carta

The meat in the photograph is the food you are supposed to get, but after an hour the wine we ordered is waiting on another table. We spotted a mouse under the table and will always wait spoiled. Two ladies fight to take order... for only fifteen people. We won't be going back here

I had 350g flank steak with spinach, sweet potato fries and peppercorn sauce. Can't fault the food, really enjoyed it. Not an ounce of fat or gristle on the steak and it was cooked perfectly to my liking. The service was ok. The guy who showed me to my table never said a word to me but the guy who took my order was very good and polite.

We ate in this restaurant twice whilst staying just around from Maredo. The salad bar was full regulary checked restocked our main course was cooked just how we ordered it.The bill was not excessive considering we was in the city also waiters spoke...good English allways polite. So looking forward to Hamburg Harley days 2019 when we will be going back to Maredo again. a night in hamburg and dinner for a short time. so it should be and we were disappointed. 2x hÃ1⁄4ftsteak with kartoffel columns. medium. at least that was ordered. instead of medium came medium rare, still only lauwarm. the branch manager personally brought the food and was already unfriendly. once kartoffeln was missing, you got another freche answer for free. the other service at the table was super, very attentive. toilets more than unhygienic. our conclusion: never again. then rather to competitive.

Read the reviews on this place and it looked promising. Out on business it can be difficult to pick a place for dinner in an unfamiliar area. The restaurent is clean and the waiters we polite. I was soon seated and my drink arrived. I...ordered a burger which was duly served. I have to say I was underwhelmed. The bun was not so good and the meat that made up the burger was poor. Not poorly cooked but poor in potion size. The fries were sweet potato and were quite tasty. There is a salad bar but I did not try the salad. All in all I had the feeling that I was not wanted in the restaurent and there was no atmosphetr and so I ate my food, paid my bill and left. Disappointing. Sorry.

"There's always a question (in my mind, anyway) as to Michelin's accuracy/usefulness outside of France. In the US, it's not very helpful at all and in Europe ex-France, I've found it hit and miss. Haerlin represented only my second stab at a two-star in Germany and the first meal (Heinz Winkler), while a thoroughly wonderful overall experience, felt like the second star might have been a stretch. Not so at Haerlin, this was a two-star meal that stands fork-to-fork with any I can remember. The food is stylized to within an inch of its life, but close to flawless in both conception and execution. Outside of a large selection of generally unremarkable breads and a luke-warm roasted onion broth added to an amuse at table side that probably should have been hotter, the meal was simply one perfect dish after another. Maybe the sorbet intermezzo was a little old school in such a fashion forward meal, but - hey - it was delicious! Keep it.The room is suitably formal, luxurious in a traditional style, and quite comfortable. The pace of service might be a little leisurely for some (I ate alone and the four-course menu (seven + courses, including amuses, etc) pushed it a bit, stretching just over three hours. However, the friendly and attentive staff kept an eye out the entire time and stopped by if the time between courses presented the opportunity. The somm, in particular, was a great diversion, visiting from time to time to discuss the varied and interesting wines on offer. He provided useful insight into the outstanding selection of trocken Rieslings on the list. He guided me to a 2001 Burklin-Wolf GG that, at Eu 150, was both a great bottle of mature white and a tremendous value for a wine of this quality in this type of restaurant. (Good luck finding a white burgundy of this quality at this price at any multi-star restaurant - or at retail, for that matter.) He also suggested a wonderful German Pinot Noir by the glass that worked perfectly with the meat course and wasn't terribly expensive. The list is extensive, but not the tome you see at some restaurants, but don't be fooled - wine service at Haerlin is both a major plus and represents notable value in the context of multi-star restaurants.I'm not going to argue two-star vs three-star because that distinction often seems to be kind of mysterious (and tangentially related to the food), but I will say that this place certainly deserves two stars. I had just a flat-out great meal. If you can work in a visit, Haerlin should be high on your list."
