The possibility to eat with your own hands it is always delightful. Nice food, exotic beer with Mango and great service. Totally recommend it !!!

The food is good and something different to everywhere else. Go with a big appetite ! Cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. I really like this place, feels very authentic.

this place with a unique atmosphere, friendly service and tasty eating has become one of my favorite in carlsruhe. they can order sets from two to 8 people. they also have African beer and other drinks. the place is very popular, so I would recommend booking the table before and yes, they accept cards. Mogogo is great! I had never had Eritrean food before and was excited to try a new cuisine. I had the lentils and chicken with millet couscous substituted for the flatbread. My daughter had the lamb and lentils and my husband had the beef with lentils. It was so good, we made a reservation for next weekend on the way out! Be sure to make a reservation as the restaurant is very busy.

Great food, great service. If it is your first time here or at an African place, you can ask them for tips. They had shareable table size platters but we got the individual ones on their recommendation. The spicy chicken one isnt spicy but a nice saucy well cooked chicken side dolloped in heaps on your injera (the crepe that you eat everything with . The lentils are excellent. The food is nice and something different from your usual schnitzel or pizza, but although the food was ok. It did not make up for the rather annoying service, perhaps the waiter/owner just a off day, but he was very impatient. When we asked if the price behind the dish was p.p. or for two, has answer ja, you take this. When we later asked for a beer, he said you take the big one. Disregarding we wanted a small one and it kept going on like that. So all in all, it wasn't a very pleasant evening. Ver carta

It was our first time trying Eritrean cuisine and not the last. We loved the place , decoration,staff and food. We also tried a special drink they are making I guess it was a mix of vodka , mango and something else and was fantastic. The tea is similar to the tea in my country tea with cardamom and clove and was happy to figure out how similar the two cultures are. We also tried the coffee there and was so different from any other kind of coffee The owner of the restaurant came and welcomed us personally and this made me feel like I'm home I do recommend it and definitely go there again . Very tasty Eritrean/Ethiopian Food. Two of us shared the large Africa Platter with 2 extra pieces of Injeera bread and were full after. I couldn't read the German Menu but the platter had the basic staples I remember from Ethiopia and Ethiopian Restaurants in San Francisco. Shiro Yellow Lentils, Doro Wat Chicken, Doro Tibs (lamb), Spinach, Hard Boiled Eggs, plus some salad and potato salad. The dishes were low on spice to appeal to what seems to be the local German preference but I would have preferred to really feel more spicy heat from the Bereberi Spices. The restaurant has nice ambiance and the service was friendly if also a bit slow since it was a busy Saturday night. The price was fair...
