"Morgan’s is always our “ go to” venue for a meet up with friends. The food is always, consistently, good. The cakes are especially tempting! However, without going into specifics or picking on any one person, we found that the service was not up to its usual high standards. A couple of us got our order and our two companions had to wait, always awkward! However the food, when it arrived, was very good. My main complaint and the reason I we shall not be returning, is the large number of dogs present. I am severely sight impaired and found it incredibly difficult navigating around them. One was a litter over exuberant running around peoples legs. I love dogs but would not dream of taking my own spaniel into that type of establishment. I struggle to understand why people think that dogs are acceptable everywhere. Many people are actually scared and some are allergic to them. So for us, it is with regret, we shall not be returning."

Excellent service, great food and pleasant atmosphere. I've been many times over the years and never left disappointed.

This is the place for the best cakes in Cheltenham. Awesome Orange Cake and Epic Chocolate Cornflake Cake. A huge choice of cakes, all delicious.

Never disappoints. Great Bistro, good food selection, great cake selection, soft drinks, hot drinks, ales, beers, and lagers, as well as good wines and large selection of spirits, all sprinkled with great atmosphere and an eclectic population

We arrived without booking and were sited without long wait. Restaurant and bar particularly were busy but service was prompt. Good food. We choose steak and smoked haddock fish cakes as mains and both dishes were tasty. Good price and lovely atmosphere. Recommend.

Don't often write reviews but we were so well looked after last night, I felt it deserved recognition. The whole evening was perfect, a lovely table for all the family, genuinely warm and helpful staff and delicious food. So relaxing and enjoyable. We were not rushed to vacate the table as in my experience is all too common these days. Thank you Morans

A great place to catch up with friends or spend time with family. Comfy sofas to sit on, if you are lucky to get a table where they are. It’s always busy but you still get excellent service. Coffee is good as is the food. Can highly recommend the Cratfish and Avocado wrap. The pickled cucumber that comes with it is delicious. Could eat loads of it. Wish I knew how they made it taste so good.

Morans is an independent bar/restaurant at the end of Bath road, a wonderful part of cheltenham full of bars, cafes, restaurants and shops. The decor is fantastic, staff and management are well knowledged , friendly and well trained. There is a good range of wines and beers, the menu is appetising and the food quality is very good. Small outdoor seating area at the front and back and during the daytime, the selection of cakes are absolutely amazing with a nice coffee. This place is a real gem and I just can't keep away

Went here for lunch a few weeks ago usually Morans is good but this time the service and food was very mediocre. The staff don't appear to be very happy. The food took such a long time to arrive, I had to chase for it twice, after nearly an hour of waiting. We weren't told when ordering that there was any type of delay, and further still, there was no apology for it taking so long. My friend said her lunch was ok but not great, and the chicken skewers were so dry I gave up eating them after the first one. Also at no point during our stay/meal were we asked how it was.

"The story: Two weeks prior, peeking through the restaurant window, I was intrigued to see the kitchen artizans hard at work creating sushi platters that looked vibrant but also elegant. On the 14th November at lunchtime, I was looking forward to trying Kibou as Japanese cuisine is one of my favourites. It's very hard to see the same level of unique variety that Kibou has compared to the few Japanese restaurants I am local to. We wanted to try an array of items and the mini seasonal menu had just been released in time for our visit as well. The food: The Jo Moriawase and New Style Sashimi were great introductions to the first impressions of the quality and range of the dishes available as they were the assortment dishes. Our server provided us with guidance on what we should try first on the Jo Moriawase in order to prevent ending up with eating soggy nori which we appreciated. The Black Cod Nigiri is nothing I have ever tried before so this was also an interesting experience for our tastebuds. My dad has a tough palate to appease but to my surprise, he was satisfied with the Spider Roll Temaki and Chashu Ramen (he thought the pork broth could have been less strong but nonetheless still enjoyed, not like the artificial flavourings you get in an instant ramen if you know what I mean). The Chirashizushi was great for me as I love my sashimi. I didn't realise the yellow portions were actually tamago/egg roll until I tasted it. Some sort of gastronomical wizardry? My mum really lavished the Yaki Udon textures, with the udon noodles having the right amount of nudge needed to chew and biting into the nice crispy outer layer of the tofu. My only regret is not having enough room to try the desserts. Overall, a unique adventure for the tastebuds! The price: If you are extremely budget conscious, perhaps I would not be able to recommend Kibou to you. For a family of three, we were about £40-50 per person. As of my visit, the service charge is 10%. Don't get me wrong though, I think the service charge is fair and reasonable because our experience with the staff we talked to and came by our table were lovely. The atmosphere: Family-friendly but also evening bar feel. Sakura Cherry Blossom and other Japanese-related art themes run throughout the restaurant. The service: We didn't have to wait very long to be seated or served. The waiting staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. The kitchen staff did an amazing job with the food. Would I come again?: Yes, as a treat! Plus I want to try the dessert next time! :"
