"Vibrant and welcoming restaurant offering exceptional South Indian cuisine. Be sure to try the tea tray-sized masala dosas with flavorful chutneys. If you find UK curry house dishes to be repetitive, Nalaas will pleasantly surprise you. We arrived early and was able to walk in, but by 1pm the restaurant was filling up quickly. The service was efficient and friendly, and the prices were very reasonable. The only thing to keep in mind is that they only accept cash, but there is a cashpoint nearby for convenience. Highly recommend this spot."

This restaurant is a hidden gem! The dosas are outstanding, the puris are beautifully puffed, and the atmosphere is more like a cafe than a traditional restaurant. Despite its casual vibe, it does not take away from the delightful dining experience. If only it were closer to home, I would dine here regularly.

Amazing food and great service (attentive and helpful but never overbearing). The Thali was great across the board and every other dish our party ordered was so tasty (big shout out to the Idli Vada). Definitely high on the list of Derby restaurants that serve good food at good prices. Will definitely come back.

Absolutely brilliant, authentic Indian cuisine. One of the best curries out I have had in a long time. Although this place is unassuming from the outside, in a quite rough area of Derby, you have to try the food produced in these kitchens it is absolutely delicious. The inside could do with re decorating (especially the loos) but it is comfortable and clean.

We love curry but get a bit sick of the tasteless curries usually on offer at the local takeaway. We heard about naalas and have been wanting to go for a long time. Wow we weren't disappointed. Stunning flavoursome food with layers of flavours. Highly recommend. We had the chilli and coriander dossa prawn garlic curry and the thali. Blown away. We will be returning.

Our friends brought us to this restaurant, which is tucked away in a corner. Despite its hidden location, the staff was very friendly, the service was quick, and the food was extremely fresh and flavorful. This Southern Indian restaurant offers a lot of vegetable dishes, but I didn't miss having any meat at all. I highly recommend this place. Thank you for the excellent service.

It has been a while since we last visited Nalaas but the food here last week was absolutely fantastic. Staff are lovely and helpful and every single dish is cooked with such care and attention, even the pilau rice is special . The food here is different from every other run of the mill curry house. Dosas and vada to start are fabulous with all the homemade chutneys. 10/10 recomend!

No, it's not in a salubrious location; no, it's not pretty on the outside; but wow is the food great. Nalaas serves some of the most authentic tasting southern Indian food that you'll find in this country served promptly by friendly ladies running front of house. Inside is clean and comfortable but it really is all about the food. The toilets need investment, but other than that 10/10.

Absolutely delicious South Indian food. Paper roast, paneer, nala dosas are all incredible. We also had idli. Highly recommend the thali option. Such beautifully cooked curries. Lamb biryani and chilli chicken were amazing. Finished off with masala tea and gulab jamun. Our second visit to Nalaas. Team at Nalaas are very friendly, welcoming, and they have cooked the best South Indian food eaten out of India.

"My friend and I wanted somewhere different to go for some late lunch and so we decided on the Cosy Club. Although my friend had been once before a while back, it was my very first time visiting. As you walk in, you're greeted with an almost vintage-y feel and it's great! Old paintings upon the wall and retro furniture too, but that's not all. Ascending the stairs to the top, we got to the first bit of the club which is the bar area and what a fab area it is too, to relax and enjoy and Beveridge or two. Further down is where the restaurant is located and a lovely restaurant it is too. Very ornate with a fancy oldy-worldy vibe, almost like stepping back in time. The decor and glass chandeliers make for a very luxurious, almost palatial feel. The staff were really friendly and showed us to a table where after a short time of waiting, we had water poured for us before choosing what we'd like to eat and drink. I decided to go for the dirty chicken burger and I'm glad I did. The portion size was great, and there was plenty going on in the burger; the flavours were tantalising! Everything was cooked really well and tasted good (oh and the berry cider they have is certainly worth a try! After spending time enjoying our meal, we paid for the bill and were able to make our way, with our drinks, to the bar area to take a sit and enjoy the vibe further. I would certainly recommend the Cosy Club to anyone looking for something different, with a cool vibe and great food. Thank you to the staff for a pleasant and enjoyable visit, will certainly be returning! :"
