A very good Indian, with great flavours and non-standard dishes. Staff v helpful and charming. Lovely evening out.

Nice meal here a few years ago, then disappointment during lockdown. Tonights meal was spoiled by shabby, slow and faulty service. The food was actually good. The decor and feel was of a tired and faded place. Toilets need to be upgraded. Shame.

We passed nearby whilst in Edinburgh and visited without booking. The welcome was fabulous: friendly and helpful. The food was excellent, as was the wine. I don't think I've ever eaten better. For us, the wine waiter gave us superb advice on his area of Europe and wine production regions. He even drew us a map of where he came from it's now on our bucket list to visit. Love serendipity! Visited for my girlfriend's birthday, very grateful to the team for making it such a beautiful night for us The staff was incredibly attentive and welcoming, and the vegetarian tasting menu was so delicious we almost ran out of compliments! Thank you specifically to Mate for being so lovely and kind. If any of you ever plan to visit the Netherlands please shoot us a message : Couldn't have asked for anything more, highly recommended!

We turned up on time for our booking at 830 but we’re told all food had to be ordered by 930 and we couldn’t have the tasting menu. It all seemed a bit odd but we’re the told the menu we wanted was possible The tasting menu was excellent but we were presented with the bill before we had finished our dessert. We we then told it was home time before we had finished our drinks at 11 I’m not sure what’s happening here. The food is excellent but the staff need to get home early and then complain it’s not as busy as normal. To be at the top of your game food and service need to complement each other

After being recommended by close friends, we were excited to try this restaurant during our stay in Edinburgh. However, our experience was extremely disappointing. We spent over 3 hours waiting for our meal due to serious service issues. The tasting menu was not enjoyable and the overall service was terrible. We decided to leave before finishing our meal because we were so dissatisfied. We asked for the bill after wasting so much time, and even noticed that the staff seemed eager to leave, with the manager changing into casual clothing while we were still eating. We highly recommend avoiding this restaurant at all costs. Ver carta

Although we were initially turned away for not having a reservation, the manager quickly found us a seat at the restaurant. The atmosphere was impressive and inviting, with a tantalizing menu to choose from. While it has been some time since our visit and I cannot recall the exact dishes we ordered, the "Railway Curry" stood out as particularly excellent. Overall, the food was top-notch and both my partner and I, who are both fans of Indian cuisine, thoroughly enjoyed our meal. In fact, I was so impressed that I immediately called my brothers in Edinburgh to recommend the restaurant to them. This dining experience was of the highest quality.

My wife and I were extremely disappointed with our recent visit to this restaurant, especially considering we had dined there at least three or four times before. We had even recommended this place to our friends from Australia and New Zealand. Unfortunately, our experience this time was not up to par. We arrived at 6:30pm and waited for over an hour before receiving our first course. To make matters worse, the dish had to be sent back because it was not what we had ordered. Although the food was decent once we finally got to eat it, we ended up spending nearly three hours at the restaurant for just two courses. It was clear that they were understaffed that evening, which was not a good look...

Beautiful, succulent, tasty food; well presented and served by friendly staff. The menu doesn 't waste time giving you extensive lists, running to several pages, of what you might hope to get in any, run-of-the-mill, Indian restaurant. It 's one page of what they do brilliantly well. Sure there are enough choices; but immediately we got the feeling that these guys know what they are doing. Keeping it simple and preparing wonderful dishes. This very much proved to be the case. The chicken tikka starter was immense. The Railway Lamb Curry fantastic. Herself had 'the best fish curry ' she 'd ever had. Even the dessert menu (something I 'm seldom tempted by in an Indian restaurant) had a dish to... Ver carta
