I chose for Sunday brunch cinnamon french toast with crispy bacon and an egg, very tasty.

Got the pan roast lamb and it was amazing. My girlfriend got the hake and it was beautifully cooked. The house beer washed it all down well. The staff ontop of it all were really lovely, friendly and attentive. Ver carta

great eating in a beautiful place. not the largest place, so recommend booking. large aromas and menus are diverse. from the appetizers to dessert, everything was full of taste and interesting ingredients. highly recommended if they are somewhere near the opposite.

Fantastic bistro style food in a relaxed atmosphere. They have opened the area up a bit from its previous incarnations and it felt open and friendly. The menu is quite short which I liked but I hope they change it fairly regularly if I go to eat there more regularly.

My go-to bistro/bar. Nice selection of beers and gins. The quality of the food is way beyond what you would expect from a small bistro, it's interesting and varied and without exception cooked to perfection. I have had breakfast here, lunch and dinner and not once have I ever been less than delighted with the food and service. There's a good mix of customers, young and old, singles, couples and families, dog friendly too. The staff go the extra mile to offer friendly advice on the food and drinks. Tried a few dishes from the menu, the hot smoked salmon and crab, the crispy cauliflower, the lamb and the pan fried coley. It was a bit of a mixed bag to be honest the cauliflower and lamb dishes were really nice but on ordering a side of mixed greens to go with the lamb it turned out that it already came with the greens in the dish so it was a bit of a waste. The salmon and crab starter was good but there was what seemed like cubes of potato mixed in with it that isn't mentioned in the description which made it a lot heavier than what I was expecting. a relatiw new start-up from the people behind cafe source. nice place for an early evening drink and dinner, this time at a (same) sunny evening in the juli. a cool, unlimited room with an entrance at both ends, lots of glass and some outside seats. a fast welcome and attentive service in all areas. interesting selection of excavator bears, among them a pfirsich white beer and a really acidic beer and hibiscus catalyzer in light pink. Lip puckering on good wise. they can try a rehearsal before they buy. interesting menu with vegetarian options. the smoked salmon with arable grass was beautiful. the hanger steak was perfectly cooked and came with the star of the plate, a large fat-pinta chip....

Regardless of how good the food is, they treat their staff abysmally. Just know that when you leave a tip, it's probably funding the owners' lavish holidays. I worked at Cafe Source, the same owners as Niven's, and I worked hard. Cash tips were collected at the till, and all staff were to put tips in a jar to be divvied up. However, the owners kept the hardworking staff's tips, tossing us or every fortnight. We were definitely pulling in more than that. When I put in my notice and went back to collect my last two weeks of tips, owner Paul fobbed me off, and I never did get what I was owed.
