"Went here for lunch in June on a Tuesday and was relatively busy, we booked a table outside and glad for the reservation. Menu was very varied and had loads of great sounding stuff, we had the smoked salmon risotto, chicken pesto penne and scampi and chips. All the dishes were great, esp the scampi and the risotto, generous sized portions and well seasoned. Washed it down with a variety of g&ts and cold pints of cloudy cider. Would definitely go back next time I'm in the area!"

Very nice, we were upstairs at the cocktail bar for a wedding reception, the team were very helpful. Nice decor too

The full English breakfast was very disappointing as it was not cooked fresh and seemed like many items were prepared in advance and kept warm. However, my partner enjoyed the Spanish dishes they ordered, as they were made to order and tasted very nice. Ver carta

The service at this restaurant is consistently slow and inattentive. Despite this, the location is beautiful and the food is quite enjoyable, which is why we continue to return. Unfortunately, the poor service often leaves me feeling thirsty by the end of the meal.

on a short trip to mordon we drove past and it looked so cozy that we had to dive in. so glad we did what a great place. the food was before place and large portions. very cooled vibes the staff was all young, but was great with service. friendly and attentive. must have been good when we came back the next day

had a nice breakfast with my son. eating was very good and well done. two employees met, one was very friendly and friendly, the other something short in his answer, but the service of him was also sufficient. I'm staring because the location's accessibility is not great. that cannot really be helped by the owners, as it is a very old building (and probably listed as class) Ver carta

I visited this restaurant on Saturday, June 18th. The service was poor despite the friendly staff, as there was minimal interaction for our service needs. We waited for an hour before our food arrived, which was incorrect. My sons were missing their fries and hash browns. We waited over an hour for a salad. The employees were all very young, and it seemed like there was no visible management and organization was lacking.

I visit once a week with colleagues and we are happy to drink late evening. this is the only bar in the city center that we can guarantee is opened. the decor aims at urban chique, but it is not quite convincing, but the staff is friendly and helpful, and the beer is reliable. the music is sometimes a bit loud to talk and some of my fellow friends like the high-level tables and hocks, but it is generally a good place for a drink.

"We come to Maldon fairly regularly and occasionally stay over. The New Pavilion is was one of our favourite go to restaurants. We arrived at 7:30, as booked, and were very happy to see the front restaurant full except for our table for two. We ordered drinks at the bar and sat at our table. Maybe we should have been more aware of the situation when, after about 15 minutes, we had to tell the staff we were now ready to order. The young waitress was very apologetic and we said it was no problem, not her fault as she was doing two jobs waitressing and covering the bar as the barman had literally disappeared and was occasionally seen serving an old meal. Now we were waiting. 40 minutes? During this time we noticed a number of people shaking their heads at the staff. People walking out after questioning the service and the delay. The poor waitress, we could literally hear her in the back room crying. When our starters came we cancelled our main courses. My wife said my baked Camembert looked like a crème brûlée. I did eat it though and pay for it. I was not going to put the waitress through any more stress. I spoke to the barman as we were leaving and he seemed very surprised that I mentioned the overload of work the waitress was doing covering both jobs. He never said what he was doing during his absence. I did say that as he was obviously not the owner it was probably not his fault as well. All the tables in our corner agreed with what I told the bar manager and we’re about to leave without food. I will be very interested to see the owners reply and any excuse he comes up with. There’s no excuse. Get more staff. Hopefully the waitress has walked across the road to a top restaurant that treat their staff better. She was brilliant and deserved better treatment."
