"We were staying near Inverness on the banks of Loch Ness and looking for somewhere nearby for food. Inverness itself didn't seem to have much on offer having already checked Happy Cow. Our B&B hosts recommended this place as having some good veggie options. It's a quirky but old fashioned type restaurant with a gift shop attached as such much of the decor is comprised of things you can buy there, such as millions of mugs hanging from the ceiling and prints and paintings on the walls. the lighting is also very bright. The owner, Guy, seems quite eccentric and has a somewhat odd sense of humour however he was generally friendly and helpful. We were very pleased to find that the menu which was mostly non-vegetarian, had a front page which detailed where they sourced all their meat and other produce all local. The best bit of course was that they had some vegan and vegetarian options, which were very clearly labelled. The menu also stated clearly to mention if you were vegan so that the accompanying vegetables could be prepared without butter. The owners clearly understood about vegan and vegetarian diets! When we visited there were 4 vegetarian options on the menu and 3 of them were already vegan or could be made vegan easily such choice in the north of Scotland is hard to find! The restaurant is not licensed but you can bring your own and no corkage is charged. Also, you really need to drive to this place to make sure you have at least one designated driver. All in all we had a lovely time there and would definitely go back if we were in the area The food was good there were two veggie starters one of them vegan and both mushroom based, so we tried both of them and they were very tasty!"

very delicious food! very friendly staff and cozy atmosphere. it was great to experience a restaurant that knows the difference between vegetarian and vegan cuisine. makes it much easier.

The food here was TOP NOTCH!!! 4 Vegan/ vegetarian options on the main menu and a menu of healthy raw vegan desserts. This place has a warm homely feel and the service was great. Make sure you ring in beforehand to let them know you are vegan.

two wonderful people ran this charming caffe. we were mixed over the aromes. our family of 4 ordered 2 of the Butternuss-Quash-Casserole (usually a one-pot over rice) and the laib. I had the faith and it quickly disappeared. it was so good. it was very filled. I wish I had eaten it more slowly and sworn it! I have to go back. the rest of the family enjoyed the uprun, but it was not unforgettable.

that was recommended to my partner by a working mate, no expectations on my side, we were from the fabulous food card, meeres fruit, venison, bark meat, lamb all in the highlands. scallops to finish with speck, head of the healbutt, and a kanachan, my partner had the Haggis star, a special of roasted orkison. you have to visit these people. we will be back, because this is the type of menu that must be dressed by court by court. family-run, simple environment and only the best to eat.

We attended this veg-friendly restaurant once whilst on holidays and agree with other reviewers about the owner managers being very ready and willing to cater for vegetarians and even vegans. Its always a good sign when the word vegan' appears on a menu! We likened our dishes to hearty home cooked meals. The mixed bean goulash dish was particularly tasty. We attended the restaurant at 6pm on a week night without a booking and struggled to get a table given the limited seating capacity and number of bookings.

The menu had 4 vegetarian/vegan main course options on the menu with all the options being suitable for vegan diets with some adaptation for one of the dishes to be suitable. By letting them know you are vegan they also ensure the accompanying veg is also vegan friendly. I have to admit I cannot comment on the starters or desserts suitability as I never enquired but you would need to ask as there is nothing clearly labelled. I booked in advance for dining on Friday evening and all the tables appeared to be reserved so I would recommend pre-booking. Our family of six vegans ate the most deliciously tasty vegan meals here. We shared the vegan starter of roasted mushrooms which was very yum! Five of us had the cabbage and chestnut roast with potatoes and vegetables and one had the mixed bean goulash with rice, it was all so so good!
