excellent food for a special occasion lunch, a varied menu with Mediterranean focus. the service was friendly and efficient, eating beautifully presented. I had healed, which was perfectly cooked and presented in unfusessy wise with roasted vegetables that were just not made fat! I will come back

We visited the Olive Tree tonight and could not have faulted the service. The food was delicious, service good and we would highly recommend. We are staying in York for 4 nights and planned to visit a different restaurant each night, but have decided to book here again for Saturday. The menu was diverse, with lots of options and my husband thoroughly enjoyed the mixed grill. Overall we had a very nice evening with good food. Ver carta

Quick and friendly service, we booked for 5:30pm but 4 parties walked straight in without bookings. The portion sizes are really good. The chicken and chorizo paella was gorgeous and they offered to take the rest away when we could only finish half of it. We only had one drink but £45 including tip for a meal of that standard and size is really good value. Top tips: 1. Look at the menu online which has offers on which are not on the menu within the restaurant. 2. Ask for a window table and enjoy the view of Clifford’s Tower.

on Saturday in October. incapable of booking for our usual dining room time as a closure, so it was. the employees were very friendly and efficient in the evening. (table of starters were delicious. baked aubergine; and halloumi chips cooked to perfection. mains: hunters chicken tasty without being exceptional, but certainly plentiful and nothing to complain. sea bass a well cooked dish that I would order again. puddings: unfortunately the first two decisions were not available. chocolate brownie was the choice. the cake element was up to par, but disappointing the cream was the spray can sort that did not add positive to the plate. one of our party ordered the house red. the best house red...
