"After the last visit, 't was a success, we gave the place a second chance, and no more cheap lunch speciality, but a good Italian upscale meal all around. That is no cheaper place anyway, nor should it be or be; it is for special occasions if you want. The outdoor area is loungy and beautiful, very good and shaded for the summer, overlooking the pedestrian area (where there are also two tables, but this is a little busy). What counts here is the food, and the cook not only makes classics, but there are real culinary inventiveness here. Nothing bizarre, but real creativity, and that is much appreciated and deserves the price asked. All dishes were good; But what I would really stress here is a really excellent dessert (a was just okay, but one was superb), a coffee semifreddo that was in texture and taste was world class and that I still remember with my mouth. Rare enough happens! Again, all other dishes were good, including bread and oil, but a true taste explosion experience (textur also, again) will surely come again!"

The Restaurant looks really beautiful. The Service was very slow. We took the special lunch menu. Everything tasted very good but it was nothing special. The small serving size and the high price dissapointed. So the Quality was very good, but the Price-perfomance ratio dissapointed.

I was from out of town, obviously, and had a late dinner here on a TUE evening. Had a glass of Chardonnay, the cream of tomato soup, and the lasagna bolognese. All very good. The waiter spoke Italian (native language), German, and some English. He gave me a small glass of limoncello before I left. Total price was 18.5 Euro - very reasonable.

I already have been in Cuxhaven and mostly by portuguese restaurants. This time I checked over TripAdvisor for something different and... discovered Osteria la Fenice. The chef is from Veneto and was very kind, however I do not know who was in the kitchen but... the seabass baked in a foil was just excellent!!!For sure, I will be back again!

We went here - 4 adults and 2 children to enjoy a very nice lunch. We tried menu of the day which consisted of a delicious soup and a nice pasta dish, the kids got lasagna and one of us had a salad as well. Afterwards we had Panna Cotta as desert. Everything was very tasty especially the soup and the service was very friendly. Quite cheap as well.

Looking at the small town of Cuxhaven in northern Germany, you would never expect such a first-class Italian restaurant. They immediately notice that the owners have much thought in the presentation of food and keep it traditional Italian. We have tried everything and we have to say the food and experience was excellent and really recommend to check it. Without a doubt, the best restaurant in Cuxhaven. Only small criticism is in the truffle pasta, which was reinforced with truffle oil or butter, but can be apologised because it was for truffles from season. Thought it would rate 5/5 and will certainly come back.

I love small Italian restaurants with great food. And this is definitely one of the best! The restaurant is small, but furnished very imaginative and with taste. Service is especially friendly and professional. They are regularly changing the weekly specials. Some of the dishes are regular, others are seasonal, while others depend on the daily offers. Ingredients are fresh and imported from Italy. The food is excellent! Even for vegetarians there is always a great variety of choices. Usually I am too full for a desert, but here it's definitely worth leaving some space for it : Definitely the best Italian restaurant around!

For people who like Italian food and wines is Osteria la Fenice a must to visit in Cuxhaven. Real Italian food, very interesting selection of wines from small vineyards, all served from the heart by the owner. Small place, small menue but all is top quality. Home-made pastas are outstanding, every dish is a pleasure for the eye and palate. The only thing we missed was that we would have iked to have some beef for the main course but there wasn't any in the menue. The owner's recommendations of wines were really good. And his prices are really fair for this quality. Osteria la Fenice is worth a special visit, also from further away. We will certainly go back!

Cuxhaven could not be at the top of your 'must visit ' culinary destinations, but this restaurant at the end of a pedestrian zone (and literally quiet) means that you can be sure of a very excellent meal. The outdoor tables do not just the atmosphere inside, which is relaxed and comfortable. There are not many tables, so it probably fills up quickly. While there are only wines on the glass to choose from, they are pretty and the Prosecco was good. The food was prepared with very fresh ingredients, grilled vegetables, shrimps, pastas, quality of steak, fresh fish carpaccios, all excellent. (We didn't try the pizza). The pasta was a touch dry, but they brought some brilliant olive oil and with...

"The last evening of our annual winter holiday in the Cuxland in 2017 had begun, and out of the refrigerator in the chic holiday cottage we jumped out a shining void. So what was closer was to drive the few kilometers to Cuxhaven and to sneak fresh fish there again. Since we wanted to conquer the old fishing harbour, this was of course our first goal. However, the disappointment quickly widened, except for the “Fishbörse”, where we were already at lunch one day before, all other fish restaurants had closed for the evening. Okay, so the few meters walked to the “Loyds”, but this store was full of breaks on Friday night. So there was nothing left to us to run until the new fishing port. There we were now facing several opened guest roses, and we chose “The Little Fish Box” which we visited last year. Menu So in the fish box, and there was almost everything occupied for Friday night. Immediately at the entrance there was a table for us four, so we took it, although it wasn't liked us so directly at the door. This also seemed to have been noticed by the service, because it offered us to take another place where the guests had paid. Empore We accepted gratefully, not assuming that it would ultimately not have a positive effect on our visit. After we had set ourselves in a quiet corner, with wonderful views over the entire restaurant, we immediately got the menu. 0.4ér Herforder Pils for 3,40 € Beverages, a 0.4ér Herforder Pils for 3,40 €, two Coca Cola Schoppen Grauer Burgundy for 4,00 € as well as a Schoppen Grauer Burgundy for 4,00 € were ordered quickly and at the table. But now we had time to review the modern restaurant, which is rather furnished in the style of a Bistros. Large tables, rustic wooden chairs and small room dividers should make the stay pleasant. From the big counter you have the entire restaurant in view. We sat on one of the few small elevations in a cozy corner. But apparently we were forgotten. The farms rushed back and forth in the whole restaurant, but we were not paying attention. Even new guests, who now sat on our first places, already got their appetizers, we hadn't even abandoned our food order yet. After unbelievable 25 minutes, an operation at our table finally started and accepted our order. If all the restaurants weren't full all around, I'd rather have left the store. So we ordered a clear fish soup with plenty of fish inlay for 5,00 € as an appetizer for me, as a main dish, my little and the big daughter ordered the cod fillet in bearded with remoulade sauce and homemade potato salad a ́ 12,00 €, my wife ordered the »Bootsmann-Teller« with redfish fillet, dorsch fillet, plumb and seaweed The clear fish soup with plenty of fish inlay then did not take long to get to our place after the order. Clear fish soup with plentiful fish inlay for 5,00 € Leaks looked at it, but here more salmon pieces instead of other noble fish in the soup. Vegetable strips and a small baguette slice rounded off the soup. Contrary to the “Fischerbörse” the broth tasted clearly for fish. After my wife had tasted from the broth, we were also very quickly aware of the flavor enhancers in the game, as she reacts allergic to such things, we could recognize this within a few minutes on the redness of her skin. For this purpose, the flavor enhancers are used, and this is then even € 1.10 more expensive than in the “Fishbörse”, we give it point withdrawal. The main foods were then at our place almost 30 minutes after ordering. Dorschfilet in Bierteig with Remouladensauce and homemade potato salad a ́ 12,00 € The cod fillets in Biertig with Remouladensauce and homemade potato salad of our children were huge fillets that took the length of the whole plate. The fillets with the crispy crispy roasted, a delicious and very spicy remoule sauce should round off the taste. At one daughter there were cucumber salad from the large market in the peel as a supplement, cod fillet in bearded with remoulade sauce and homemade potato salad a ́ 12,00 € at the other shepherd cheese and sour beans. Incomprehensible for us. The homemade potato salad was also delicious. In contrast to the Saxon potato salad with mayonnaise and meat salad, the latter was dressed with oil and speck. This dish is delicious.... »Bootsmann-Teller« with redfish fillet, cod fillet, sollen fillet and seaweed fillet with Remoulade and roast potatoes for 16,00 € The »Bootsmann-Teller« with redfish fillet, dorsch fillet, sollen fillet and seaweed fillet with Remoulade and roasted potatoes was covered with three well roasted fillets of red Also a small bowl of cucumber salad from the large market and the delicious remouladens sauce. Here you will find delicious and well seasoned roast potatoes. This, in contrast to yesterday’s visit to the “Fischerbörse”. The frying potatoes fried, with plenty of bacon and onion and with neat spice. However, even this plate 5,50 € more expensive than in the “Fischerbörse”. Steak from white heal butt with herbal butter, mixed salad and also roast potatoes for 19,50 € My steak from white heal butt with herbal butter, mixed salad and also roast potatoes also covered the half plate. Salad to halibut steak There was a mixed salad that was drowned in plentiful dressing and many sunflower and other grains. In addition, on the plate a small bowl with white herb salad, which at best came from the large market. Again, delicious roast potatoes. The halibut steak was well seasoned and pleasant in taste. I don't know if the €19.50 is justified. All in all, we left almost 80 euros here. For comparison one day before lunch in the “Fischerbörse” with comparable food (except the Heilbuttsteak) we paid only 55,00 €. That's 25 euros more. For this, old grandma has to work for a long time.... There is nothing to complain about cleanliness. Guest room as well as the sanitary facilities were clean and well maintained. Conclusion: The food really delicious, unfortunately partly stretched with flavor enhancers or finished powder. Prices are significantly higher than in the old fishing port, but also one of the few restaurants that have opened in this corner in the evening. Only the service should remember that the customer pays their wages. We already had the same problem in 2014. The food has partially improved into the positive, the service still lags behind. And in the future, please do not use any flavor enhancers. We don't need that!"

"The Valentine's Day represents something very special for many couples in love, and so this day has been celebrated for many years and shamelessly exploited by the (flowers) industry. I have also come to temptation many years ago and have bought my wife completely overpriced cut flowers, which have finally landed on the compost after not even a week. We don't give anything on this day, the little gestures and gifts throughout the year make a happy relationship. The only ritual we have been maintaining on this day for many years is the visit to a gastronomy. It should not be the village pub around the corner, but it can be a good restaurant on this day. Since we were again on Valentine's Day for our winter holiday in Cuxhaven, I had to look for a suitable gastronomy. Google and GG were helpful here, and so I quickly came to the restaurant “sea terraces” right behind the dike at the seaport. The reviews here as well as on the net were mostly positive, and so we had to test this once. The table reservation worked excellently on the restaurant website, a confirmation email came after a short time. Valentine's night was safe. Lake terraces Cuxhaven in the dusk With the mobile base it went to the restaurant, parking is available enough before. On the way to the restaurant, the view over the dike grazes on the world shipping path, the sailor and the ferry port of Cuxhaven. From here you have a good view towards ball beacon. The restaurant was still quite orphaned at our entrance shortly after 6:00, but the Reserved signs pointed to the tables but to which it is still full tonight. So it happened, the restaurant was finally occupied to the last place, and guests who had not reserved had to be sent back by then. View over the dike to the harbor We were greeted by a friendly young gentleman and led to our place in the back of the restaurant. The house or restaurant is semi-circular, at each window there is a table. A small empire in the interior houses further places. Guest room on the Empore Large tables provide enough space for the food, on the wide, soft padded leather chairs you sit very pleasant. The restaurant is modern, decorated with style elements from the cruise as well as with photos from the old Cuxhaven. A pleasant, secret atmosphere. Unfortunately, the incoming darkness destroyed us the view of the lake, but the passing lights announced the merciful driving on the world shipping path to Hamburg. The young gentleman handed us the big menu, lit the candle on the table and removed discreetly. So we were able to pick up our drinks first, the food was only briefly, but the selection was very lush. After a few minutes had passed, we were politely asked if we already had a drink request. Menu Yes, we had, and so we ordered as drinks: · 1x 0.4ér Jever Pilsner for 4.80 € · 1x 0.4ér KiBa for 4.60 € · 1x 0.2ér Thomas Henry Tonic Water for 2.90 € · 1x 0.2ér storm wine Aprilweather from the winery Sturm from the Palatinate for 6.50 € Now we could devote ourselves to the menu, because until the drinks were almost 10 minutes. We were now safe, and so we ordered: As appetizers: · 1x carrots ginger soup as a day soup for 5,00 € · 1x fish soup sea terraces – a clear fish soup with vegetables, fish inlay and house bread for 7.50 € As main dishes: · 1x band noodles „vegetarisch“ with cherry tomatoes, pies and pies A common Valentine's Day. I was delighted that I was able to do this again with a Nordic beer, the tasty and really nice herb Jever Pilsner. mmmmh delicious Frisian herb Jever Pilsner There were still Radeberger Pils from home to choose from, but at Jever Pils my decision was immediately fixed. My wife's dry Pinot, who calls himself a stormy wine in April, was also a very rich wine. Even the KiBa KirschBanane juice was neatly mixed, which really only a few guest roses get really good. Both juices were clearly separated from each other. Now we thought that we had enough time for our drinks to let the day revue happen, but far missed, because already after 5 minutes our two preliminary sheds were on the table. That's okay, because I think the soups are already ready in the pot in the kitchen waiting for the guests. My wife had opted for the carrots ginger soup, which was offered today as a day soup. On a large, deep plate, a strong yellow/orange soup was served here. The soup was coarsely spiced and slightly sharp, and today delighted her palate, although she had to watch the temperature of the soup not to brew it. Just delicious. Carrot ginger soup as a day soup I had opted for the fish soup sea terraces. A steaming hot and clear fish soup was served in a closed ceramic pot. Fish soup Seeterrasses In the strong tasty brew there were small cut vegetables made of carrot and porridge as well as abundant fish inlay made of salmon and cod. Two large shrimps were the icing of soup. The fresh house bread, rather baguette, was butter soft, the crust beautifully pink. A great fish soup I haven't had for a long time. Fish soup Sea terraces – a clear fish soup with vegetables, fish inlay and house bread plentiful fish inlay A quarter of an hour later our main dishes were already served. There the kitchen has really started to prepare immediately after our order. The band noodles “vegetaric” had chosen our big ones today. A large bowl with bite-resistant noodles, refined with fresh cherry tomatoes and spicy, homemade pesto were served. Many leaves of fresh rocket brought additional spices into the dish. By the pesto, however, the band noodles were slightly oily, but fortunately kept within limits. Band noodles “vegetarian” with cherry tomatoes, homemade pesto and rocket My wife had wanted the North Sea Limandes. This was fried as 3 large filets, where the kitchen caught the Limandes on the point. The fillet was wonderfully soft, the case slightly pink. Although Limandes is less powerful in its own taste, the mild aroma of the Limande came to fruition here. The frying potatoes as with nuts with bacon and onions, slightly spicy and cherry roast. Easily refined with parsley, so delicious. As a sauce to fish my wife could choose between Hollandaise, Remoulade, decomposed butter and mustard sauce. She chose the homemade Remoulade, which was ultimately a good decision. The Remoulade was placed in a glass, was creamy and mild spicy, simply delicious. The salad served corresponded to the season and consisted of fresh tomatoes, peppers, onion and rocket, refined with croutons. Top. North Sea Limandesfilet roasted with roasted potatoes, remoulade and salad I wanted to try something else today, and decided for the cod from the oven. In a large gussein-iron pan, several strong fillets from cod were served here, which were prepared with mildly boiling salt potatoes, fresh, halved mushrooms and small quartered tomatoes. Cod from the oven with salt potatoes, pimientos, champignons, tomato and goat cheese on top then baked with plenty of goat cheese. Several pimientos, small green, still immature paprikaschotes, gave the whole a special, certain piff. the Pimientos The cod was so tender that he collapsed during cutting. The spicy sauce harmonized wonderfully to the whole dish. I decided correctly, and here was something completely different with fish. Delicious. We were very happy with our food. In the meantime, the young man came past the table again and again and wondered if everything was okay. Thus one could order one or the other beverage order in time. He was supported by several young ladies who did nothing to him in kindness and service. This chain and friendly way I experienced last time a year ago on our cruise with one of the Hapag Lloyd ships. Here, Chef Jan Fitter, who runs other restaurants in Cuxhaven, has set up an unlikely great team. Our conclusion: We left €84.30 in the lake terraces in Cuxhaven. This Valentine's Day was culinary once again. A great team, delicious food and the ambience, everything was just right. Full score of us. We'll be back next year."
