This is the place you want to eat at when visiting Taormina! Menu changes every couple months to keep up with in season i gradients. Super locals and “in the know” tourists dining together. I had the pleasure of meeting the Santa Domenica osteria and its owner Gianluca who was able to create a boutique of taste, a classy place in the enchanting setting of Taormina. Where good food and elegance meet: located in the heart of the historic center of Taormina, the tavern offers a varied menu with adequate prices. The experience is enriched by the presence of the histrionic Gianluca, owner and sommelier who knows how to warmly welcome customers. The wine list is also excellent. Praise for the care in the presentation of the dishes that goes hand in hand with the wise choices of the raw materials, a combination that gives refined balances in the meeting of flavors. Wow what a find! The food here is amazing. After being in Sicily for a week with no choices anywhere other than seafood, pasta and pizza it was refreshing to find a menu offering a different cuisine. We were greeted warmly by the owner. The staff were friendly and helpful and explained the wines to us and offered us homemade bread and a pumpkin soup. We both opted for the lamb shank which fell off the bone and was delicious. We followed this with Chocolate Souffle which was cooked to perfection and melted in the middle. Best of all the food is cooked in front of you so you can see that the kitchen is immaculate as were the toilets. It may seem more expensive than other local restaurants but...
