I love dining at this restaurant. The roast beef dinner was delicious, but I was not a fan of the sweetcorn fritter as a starter.

I stay at Astley Bank occasionally for business. The food service is always excellent. The dining this month was exceptional. Amazing food.

Staying over for the night so why not eat in the hotel restaurant which is in a Conservatory. I was a little random as had a tooth out yesterday but food spot on Ver carta

Booked to return again for our works Christmas party and we were not disappointed. The food was amazing as usual. Everyone commented on the level of service and quality of food before having a Prosecco or two

Visited with a friend for afternoon tea and it was absolutely beautiful. The service was second to none and every morsel delicious . Cheese and truffle soup, homemade bread, tartlets, scones, handmade chocolates and blueberry, passion fruit and ginger trifle. We had a lovely afternoon. We will definitely be returning

After being disappointed by another Darwen restaurant that cancelled our Festive lunch with only 3 days notice, my friends and I decided to book a pre-Christmas lunch at this establishment. The restaurant was beautifully decorated with elegant white tablecloths and twinkling Christmas lights. The food was fantastic, wonderfully presented, and served with a pleasant attitude. The waitresses were kind, efficient, and went above and beyond by offering to make an Irish coffee for my friend, even though it wasn't listed on the menu. I have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant. Ver carta

We had breakfast as part of our hotel package. On weekends, it was served buffet style due to a wedding. We liked being able to choose from both the continental and hot buffet options. However, on Saturday, my bacon was not hot, and I didn't enjoy the sausage. The toast was served late and the coffee was undrinkable. On Sunday, I opted for apple juice and requested burnt toast. The buffet had more options, including baked beans and scrambled eggs. On Monday, we had table service. My husband had a full English without black pudding, and I had eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. The portions were generous, but my husband wasn't offered extra bacon. My Wife and I booked for Lunch on a Monday. There is something about Astley Bank that somehow transports you to happier times of yesteryear. One of the few places that has maintained the high standards that were once more prevalent. Beautiful moorland setting with gardens just showing the first promising shoots of a new spring, a promise of better times to come after a Winter that seems to have lasted six months. Staff are smart in appearance and amenable in nature, attentive without being overbearing. Dined Christmas Eve,party of four.we have been dining at Astley Bank since 1994 we have ALWAYS had the most wonderful food and service imaginable. Christmas Eve we dined in the shorrock room and had what can only be described as the most outstanding food and service,from being greeted on arrival by sue and the team,being shown to our room which was festively decorated,along with the table.we were served pre dinner drinks whilst we decided what to eat.
