OXBO Bankside - Carta

Excellent Sunday lunch. Live music that got lost a little as the place filled up. Quite attentive servers.

I opted for fried squid and my guest went for the mussels. Both of us had rib eye steak with sides, which was fantastic.

Very good restaurant pre Globe theatre in an area that has few comparably good choices. Seasonal specialties and good value for the quality. Excellent filet steak and very good pumpkin soup.

Another great find near Tate Modern and far enough from Borough Market to not be too touristy. The food was excellent, first class ingredients cooked really well. The service was friendly but easy to confuse them if you didn't want everything in the right order. Will recommend and look forward to another visist

Overall we had a lovely time. One important thing to note however is that 80% of our group are vegetarians, and unfortunately all of the vegetarian meal portions were very small. We were all soon hungry We would be happy to return next year as despite this we had a lot of fun. Pre-meal comms was good, the staff were lovely and the food/drinks tasted wonderfully, but if the portion amounts haven't changed next time then we will have to go elsewhere. Ver carta

This was our first visit to Oxbo (although we have dined at other restaurants offering similar brunches) and we were overwhelmed by the experience. The selection of starters was mouth-watering and encouraged one to seriously over-indulge. Mains and desserts were similarly superb and everything was washed downed by a steady supply of sparkling prosecco. We cannot praise the eating and drinking experience too highly. We will definitely be going back to Oxbo before too long!

The restaurant mistakenly marked us as a no-show, despite providing our name to the hostess. The corn soup was enjoyable, but we could have done without the garnishes of popcorn, corn nuts, and baby corn cob. The bread was stale, and our bottle of ginger beer, ordered at the beginning, did not arrive until just before the entree after inquiring a few times. The pork belly portion was large, but unfortunately, it was overdone and tasted more like pork jerky than pork belly. The server kindly compensated for some of our sparkling water consumption due to the inconvenience.

I left this review for a while in order to reflect as I dont like giving bad reviews. After taking my team here, I was hoping it would be good as they deserved a good meal. Unfortunately it was marred by the service. It was simply awful. It's sad as there were a coupe of people working there that were very friendly and knew what service was, but there were some that just ruined it. We ordered steaks of different cooked levels (Rare/Medium/Well Done etc. . When they came to serve the steaks, they started putting them down on the table and didn't care about which steak anyone got (as long as it was the right type of meat .
