"Our go to Italian when we fancy eating out locally. It is so reasonably priced, you cannot argue with the value you get for decent portion sizes and good service. The house wines come in carafes aswell which is great. The seafood starters are all delicious particularly rate the calamari fritti and mussels. Pizzas were something I had never thought about getting as I usually go for pasta but they are perfect. Seafood pasta is my favy, but the tagliatelle with ham and walnuts is lovely for a wee calorie splurge...when in Rome and all that (pardon the pun)"

a warm welcome in a cozy environment, with simple but excellent eating that was for two courses with drinks £20 per person. the hardest part of the evening tried to decide what to have, as there is almost too much choice

Charming Italian Restaurant. This restaurant is delightful. The atmosphere is welcoming and cosy and staff are always friendly. The food is very tasty, in particular the Bruschetta and the Tiramisu, both to die for. It is in a convenient location near Fountainpark Cinema complex. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough.

Came here the night before Edinburgh marathon after panicking that we hadn’t booked anywhere. Can’t believe they weren’t fully booked it’s a lovely small traditional feeling restaurant, really friendly and the food was delicious. Only a couple of options for me as a venue but I had the waitress’s recommendation and it was perfect.

I 'm not sure if Piatto Verde is as authentically Italian as it might be, and though the menu doesn 't change, the food is very tasty and great value. I think it would be a fantastic place to hire out for a crowd after a small wedding, say, or big birthday bash, with the good house wine flowing. You can have a half portion of pasta for a starter (the penne with gorgonzola and spinach is delicious, as is the salmon and vodka) and follow it up with a pizza. A hidden gem.
