"We booked a table for lunch to celebrate our friends birthday. We knew the management had changed hands but thought it should still be good. We studied the menu and each of us decided on what to have. For my mains I chose the Salmon with fresh Clams on a bed of Mediterranean vegetables the others made their choices and we ordered drinks. When my main course arrived I thought this looks really good. The Salmon was a decent sized fillet and the vegetables were plenty. After I had been eating for a while I couldn’t find any Clams on my plate. I caught the attention of a the waitress and told her there were no Clams with the Salmon as it said there would be in the Menu. She said she would ask the Chef why they hadn’t been included. She returned to tell me they are there but they are powdered Clams that is why I couldn’t see them!! ……..powdered clams?? Is there such a thing. On the menu it stated fresh Clams!! I was so annoyed I gave up. It was an insult to anyone’s intelligence. I finished the Salmon. Didn’t order anything else, paid my share of the bill and was glad to leave. There was no point in making a scene by spoiling the birthday lunch for my friend. Never again Piccolo. No chance of any recommendations from our group."

Came for lunch and meet up with friend, warmly greeted and shown to our table where we were given the lunch menu. Waiting staff were lovely but that’s were it stops, food was cold, very poor and very limited .If you want an Italian meal this isn’t for you.

I had a fantastic meal at Piccolo’s Italian restaurant. The meatballs were exceptionally tasty, and the tortellini was the standout dish of the evening. The service was outstanding, and the cozy ambiance enhanced the charm of the restaurant. I am looking forward to returning soon!

Food was ok but they have recently changed the menu and it is not as good as it used to be. One thing that has changed is that they have started to add a service charge. I always leave a tip but find it really rude when they decide how much and add a service charge. They didn’t even tell us I noticed on the bill. For that reason I will not be returning.

First of all I must say the restaurant was absolutely freezing, in fact it was that cold most diners kept their coats on. The food was not up to the usual standard and the service was poor, I wouldn’t rule out returning cos this is the first bad experience we have had there. Finally on checking the bill when we returned home we had been charged for 2 cokes we hadn’t ordered nor received

I would like to say a big thank you for making our Christmas Day a fantastic day as all your staff, food, service and atmosphere was superb. There was no rush and everyone was so relaxed. The food was hot and plenty of it. The children didn’t want the staters so the restaurant made them garlic bread which they throughly enjoyed. The chocolate dome for pudding was so delicious! I would definitely return. Thank you so much!

I decided to stop by for dinner on a whim. I was staying nearby before my morning flight. I received a warm welcome and the decor was nice. Despite it being quiet on a Sunday evening, the atmosphere was warm and cozy. The staff was lovely and the food was excellent. I ordered a carbonara and a delicious roast beef. There was a mistake made regarding a charge for a bottle of wine instead of a glass, but it was promptly corrected and deducted from the bill. Overall, it was a lovely experience and I hope the restaurant continues to do well.

The restaurant lacked finesse in several areas. The Maitre d’ was clumsy and spilled wine on two occasions without apologizing. The pea purée was too watery, the red onion was not confit, the fillet steak was overcooked, and the sea bass was poorly presented with non-crispy skin. The risotto accompanying the fish should have been made with arborio rice and in proportion to the fish. The portion sizes were too large. The ambiance in the annexe was lacking, and diners at adjacent tables were able to watch a loud football match on their phones. The Maitre d’ also forgot to apply an advertised discount to the bill until reminded. This disappointing experience was the first visit after a similar...

my wife and i went out for an early meal in order to miss the familys with children we phoned ealier to book a table and asked if the ribs were beef ribs as we had been many times before and found them very moreish and excellent the restaurant was almost empty at 6pm the service was very slow .we were going to order the spare ribs together with a garlic bread until we found out that the new owners had changed the ribs to baby pork ribs so ended up with just a garlic bread to share followed by an ala carte meal 0f linguini seafood and canelloni it took over an hour for the main course to arrive and my linguini had all broken mussel shells in it which made it impossible to enjoy . we left very...

"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."
