Pizza Express - Carta

My gluten-free pizza was well cooked with plenty of topping, and they swapped out ordinary cheese for vegan for my wife who is lactose intolerant. The manager came and checked as some of the other ingredients were not vegan. They cared to get it right and we were pleased with the food and the service.

Decided to have a solo lunch here today. Just before an extremely handsome pizza was delivered to the table I’d gotten some unexpected bad news, appetite disappeared. The staff member looking after me noticed I wasn’t eating, I briefly explained she was incredibly kind, patient and solicitous. Boxed up my lovely pizza, offered any other assistance she could. Leanne you made a crappy day better for me and I hope you know how much I appreciated it. 5 stars for Leanne, and the pizza tasted superb even cold.

Visited recently for lunch. We were the first people in as guests. Table was dirty on sitting. Seating dirty. High chair filthy like it had never seen a cloth. Visited the toilets, filthy. Floor was manky, toilet roll strewn everywhere. Guessing they didn’t bother cleaning from night before? Food was average. Very very oily pizza. Glasses smudged and dirty. Standards have slipped big time. They open at half 11, but surely they should use half 11 12 and clean? No one looked at us til 12 anyway? Really put off going back. Ver carta

Went in for lunch normally we really enjoy pizza express. The waiter was nice enough sat us down and handed us two menus. We ordered a pizza each. When it arrived they were cold my partner ate his but complained his was cold mine was freezing so I asked if it could be heated up. The waiter took it away and brought it back a few mins later not much different to what it was I just accepted it and out it down to experience! We visited with our little one and ordered his food straight away as he was tired and hungry. After a very long time the manager came to tell us that the chef had burned the gluten free doughballs and when she saw them on the plate to be served she had said they wouldn't do. So our starter came but the little ones didn't. It's hard when someone has an allergy as we couldn't even share. He was in meltdown by the time it came. My wife and I visited here on the evening of January 12th 2023. The service was OK, a young lad who appeared to be ran off his feet done his best to keep up with everyone. The food started off poor and went downhill from there. We both had a rather greasy and small bruschetta to start with. For main, I had a plain cheese and tomato pizza, my wife had pepperoni. We can safely say this was the worst pizza we have ever had the misfortune of having. I wouldn't have had the hard neck to serve this garbage to anyone. Turned up here at 9.00 on a cold wet Saturday night. Had been working all day and thought I’d treat myself to a tasty pizza. Only two customers were in but it was still open so walked in and waited patiently at the usual spot. Was completely ignored so I walked up to the kitchen area where there were two chefs and another member of staff. One of the chefs was the only one to look up and I asked hopefully “is it okay to have a table? My Mum took me here as a special treat. This was completely spoilt as after my mum paid they claimed payment had not been made due to the machine losing battery, they said a decline receipt was not available. My mum clearly upset showed them on her phone the payment had been made. However the manager on shift kept talking over her in an almost aggressive manner, and kept insisting that this was not the case and the payment would be pending and cancelled. They forcefully insisted she pay again, despite her feeling very uncomfortable believing payment had already been made. Not sure why I have continued to return to pizza express at for Kinnaird, I suppose the main reason would be that my 21 month old generally really enjoys the food and I have to say the kids menu is better than I have seen in most restaurants however I always come away feeling dissatisfied about other things. A couple of months ago I meant to write a review regarding the staff. I took my daughter in for lunch, it was around 12ish on a week day so quiet.
