who is satisfied with the cheapest wein from the 2 liter bottle, salatdressing from the eimer, cooked spagetti, which also floats in the fat, as well as a pizza that was not baked through, and for that a waiting period of over 45min. in buy he will continue to visit this locally.Who, by the way, waits for a small gruß from the kitchen (as usual with any other Italian) who waits in vain.Ahja the apologising grappa gave it naturally in thick ramazottiglas.

The service was not at its best the evening that we dined with two friends. My wife asked for a local Rielsling and was told that Local wines are not served in their Italian Restaurant. My wife asked for a dry white wine and was served a sweet Pinot Grigio wine from a 2 liter bottle. Not even our friend could drink the wine. We'll stick to the local Rieslings.The food was below average and our consensus was that we would never return. You will need cash because they will not take a credit card. On our Rhine cruise, we stopped here for lunch. Wasn't expecting much but received so much more. The lovely lady & (I believe) her partner who run this quaint lovely restaurant were very helpful & accommodated our vegetarian need. They assured us that the soup was vegetarian & made our pasta vegetarian too. It was delicious. The pizza was fine & nothing much to write about. The soup proportions were generous & I thoroughly loved the experience. It is a shame that they were open only for a narrow window of lunch hours but it is worth making it in time.

Alla Fontana ranks at the top of the Italian restaurants we tried in this land of plentiful pizza and pasta. A half a block from St. Goar's main drag, it is sequestered away on a quiet side street and hosts a tiny patio with a few tables for two, and a welcoming bright interior dining room. The pasta dishes are luscious and fresh, and the vegetarian pasta with peas and zucchini was an innovative change from the usual carbonara. I suggest you order a carafe of wine and wait for the kitchen to perform it's magic...it is not fast food, but it is very good food.

We were in St.Goar and decided to have our lunch at this Resturant based on good reviews.However, to our utter surprise as soon as we entered, a lady waitress started shouting . We hinted her to speak in English. She rudely yelled "close" which with difficulty we gathered that we had to close the door of the resturant through we entered. We were shocked and couldn't fathom for a couple of minutes as to why she behaved rudely, did not greet nor even exchanged a smile, or guide us towards a table. We had no option but to leave.
