Pizzeria Ristorante Este Bar

A few steps off the beaten tracks and busy streets of downtown Ferrara, this popular restaurant proposes traditional Italian food. Good service, luscious plates, and moderate prices this is why the locals love to come here.

I ordered a pizza for the retreat and I paid extra to try for Petra dough! It was very delicate and slightly different from a standard. I took the with grilled eggplant, Parmiggiano and pistachios and it was really delicious

Being Northern Europeans we arrived early by Italian standards and were able to get a table of our choice but by 8pm the place was packed. The pizza’s were great and served by a very pleasant lady that seem to speak multiple languages.

The restaurant was pretty full and deservedly so. It is slightly off the beaten track, though only 5 minutes walk from the cathedral. It was amongst the best food that we have had in Ferrara (especially the puddings) and it was also the cheapest. Service was excellent.

This restaurant in Ferrara is well known with Italians as well as tourists. The service of the waiters is very good and they speak English as well. The food is quite good even my Italian friends return there for a good pizza. Also the other items on the menu are prepared to good quality standards. The prices are very much exceptable. Definitely a recommender when visiting Ferrara.

The young men who are running this restaurant are very friendly and excellent servers. My wife and I felt like pizza and heard good things about this restaurant. We ordered a salad which we shared, and each ordered a pizza. In addition, we had a bottle of wine and a bottle of sparking water. After dinner we had two double espressos and one large Sambucca. Prices are very reasonable here. Get there early as the place books up fast.

We ate here twice. It was very busy both nights, Tues Weds. Staff are excellent and very pleasant. Service was quick, despite how busy they were. There is a wide menu, especially pizzas. Limited range of wine by the glass though. We had pizza the first evening and pasta the next. All were excellent. Portions are generous. It’s a bit out of the way and no tourists, apart from us, both evenings. The menu is in Italian only, also a good sign! We would definitely return.

I decided to get the typical Ferrara-style tourists' menu and did not regret the choice. However, I noticed that the portions of my dishes were much smaller than those of the customers buying a la carte. The pumpkin tortelli were good and the local salamella with masked potatoes was also tasty (maybe too salty). My neighbors got a Milanese cutlet which actually envisioned 2 cultists and a mixed fried fish which filled the entire dish. The price was reasonable: 20 euros with .5 lt. of water and a glass of wine. I was also given an unexpected dessert which was nice of them.

Scelta perché sono celiaca e tra i vari posti a cui ho telefonato mi sono sembrwti i più affidabili circa la conoscenza del problema, ci abbiamo cenato in di cui solo io celiaca e siamo rimasti tutti contentissimi. Il locale è bello e tranquillo pulito, la scelta del menu è molto varia come ristorante, pizzeria ed hamburgeria. Le pizze sono piaciute molto (hanno anche una base senza glutine che condiscono e cuociono con tutte le dovute accortezzre), io ho mangiato un'ottimo antipasto ed una pasta altrettanto buona, consiglierei solo la cottura per un minuto in più. In ogni caso complimenti per la qualità e per l'attenzione anche a chi ha problemi alimentari.
