"We have been regular visitors for a number of years. However, today's visit made me wonder if we will visit again. The prices of meals have increased significantly. Nearly £10 for a jacket potato. I was most upset by the drink situation. We were taken a table and asked for our drinks order before we sat down. We were given a lunch menu but I didn't realise until later that the price of drinks is not shown! When we got the bill I found that a pot of tea (barely containing 1.5 cups) was the princely cost of £3.25 each. We were a party of 3 so one large and one small pot cost £9.75 WOW. This is ridiculous for a few tea bags and hot water."

Really friendly staff. Good food although I like mine a little hotter (could be too much chatter before eating however). Ver carta

High prices which we expected but the quality of food served was poor. Service staff though were excellent. Previous visits the food was top quality and tasty

We had a perfect visit with my grandparents at this restaurant. The food was delicious, especially the stuffed jacket potatoes and freshly made cakes with whipped cream that reminded my wife of her mom.

I went to the restaurant for coffee in the morning, the food looked delicious so I ended up spending a couple of hours exploring the area and then returned for lunch. The food was fantastic and the staff were very attentive and friendly. The restaurant was spotlessly clean and had a great atmosphere, we will definitely come back again. Ver carta

Have been a regular visitor for a long time and have always enjoyed the experience, but was really disappointed with todays visit, sandwiches were made with thin bread which was hard around the edges and cakes were dry, (what happened to the lovely thick soft granary bread). Somehow the food seems to have gone downhill and yet the prices have soared, £45 for 3 sandwiches ,2 cakes and 3 coffees, won't be visiting again

Absolutely shocking service! Went for lunch with my family (including 2 young children) and left before being serviced. We had to wait for a table, understandably as they were busy. We were seated but left after waiting for 20mins to be served! We didn’t even order a drink! In that time they managed to seat and serve 5 more tables. We asked twice about ordering and was told they would be with us in a minute. The final straw was when a table next to us was seated and served straight away! Won’t be returning in a hurry

"Richard and I, en route from Cambridge to Shropshire, chanced upon this splendid cafe in Kettering, easily accessible from the A14. The cafe occupies a cosy space with a breakfast bar by the window, offering a lovely view of the local red-brick architecture, and a fine place from which to watch the colourful characters of Kettering passing by. Unlike some cafes, there was no 'greasy spoon ' smell, which was a boon. Instead a delightful and appetite-arousing aroma of freshly cooked bacon and eggs. Richard opted for the small breakfast, and had no trouble in swapping out his eggs and tomato for black pudding and mushrooms at no extra cost. I ordered the much-vaunted breakfast baguette. The food was cooked freshly and served quickly. Richard was impressed by the appearance of his plate, and more so by the delicious food which he consumed with gusto. Richard said the bacon was well cooked, the mushrooms were good, not too greasy, generally everything was well cooked, the only thing that could have been better was the sausage, which was fine but obviously a 'standard quality ' sausage . My breakfast baguette was fantastic, the crispy bread was marvellous and the generous filling was hot and tasty, and not at all greasy. All this, plus two steaming cups of flavoursome tea for the bargain price of £9.90. We both took the opportunity to use the facilities and we 're impressed with their cleanliness and the provision of Radox soap. On the whole a great find. We will certainly drop in again if we pass by on another adventure."
