"We had heard that this was a good restaurant, maybe it is, in the winter, it just could not cope with the amount of guests that it lets in. We had to share four menus between nine of us, then we had to wait ages...before we got our drink, then another long wait before our first course came, for the main course we had to wait another hour, even that would not have been so bad if they had made sure we had another drink to help the time pass but we almost had to beg to get a drink,we had the empty plates in front of us from the first course when a waiter came with another first course!we did get our main course eventually,was it worth the wait? Not really. The manager came and gave us a dessert as a way of an apology,but as we were made to feel like the forgotten table it was too little too late. Like the staff that were not in a hurry to serve us I will not be in a hurry to go back.My advice is if you want to try this restaurant, go in the winter, you might be lucky."

I have visited this restaurant few times during past years and I have always received a good service and food. If the weather is good, get the table on the terrace.

Nice experience but less than stellar overall. The Asparagus soup was tasty but the whole place can be summed up with a meh, it was okay View is nice from the balcony area.

The food and wine was amazing. Cozy and children friendly. Prize is reasonable. Worth a visit. The mozzarella salad and carpacio was fantastic. Also the homemade pasta was so nice.

I've been there with my family to have a pizza (we are Italian). It was pretty good, better than we expected actually. The owners were really kind and friendli, wine was amazing! Nice view on the main square Ver carta

We had a crappy table on the balcony which had a poor view (cables and equipment) but it was the only one left unfortunaltely. The service was ok and the food was ok with being anything special. I had a pizza and a beer ..pretty average all round.

Portobello is located in the floor of a building with another restaurant in the floor. If I hadn't read about it here, Iwould not have found it. Anyway, nice food for children and parents. Tried pizza, pasta, lasagne and chicken. All...pretty good. Euros for food and drink.

After having problems finding this second floor restaurant we enjoyed the excellent food and friendly service. We arrived late in the evening but had a warn welcome. The place offers individual Italian cuisine, not just the standard dishes. All in all, it's very recommendable. Ver carta

Ich kann mich den positiven Bewertungen nur anschliessen.Ein schönes Ambiente und ein zuvorkommender Service begrüssten uns. Die kleine aber feine Speisekarte hielt was sie versprach. Eine gemischte Vorspeise danach Scampi und gemischte Fische überbacken und zum Abschluss eine Käseplatte. Da blieben keine Wünsche offen..Wir kommen sicher wieder

Perfect location on the town square. Food was OK but the real issue is the service. The boss took our order but then forgot to tell the kitchen so we had a long wait without apology. The staff fawn over their regulars and treat visitors...as a bit of a nuisance . Food ranges from steaks etc through to pizzas and pasta. Prices were high even for Timmendorfer and would have been worth it if the service had been anything like professional.
