"This restaurant is one of Val Thorens best kept secrets. Inside there is a gorgeous wine shop bursting with French wines at every price point and style imaginable. There are lovely tables for inside dining, but in sunny ski weather, the terrace right on the...snow is the perfect place to lunch apres-ski. The menu is not large, but don’t let that put you off. The dishes we had were extraordinary. And of an unexpectedly high standard. The frois gras for entree was served with steaming hot bread and a toasted brioche bun. Teamed with the rich but light frois gras, it was a taste sensation. We ate it slowly. The wines by the glass were excellent and we enjoyed a champagne with the entree. For main, the fish was an incredible dish. The fish melted in the mouth and was topped with a slightly Asian style sauce and sat on an ultra light bed of what may have been mashed parsnip and a few vegetables. Heaven. One of the best fish dishes I’ve ever eaten in France. That good. My friend had the beef tartare which was also elegantly presented and a taste sensation with just enough spice, egg and texture. Sitting in the sun watching the skiers, it was the kind of meal dreams are made of. We should have had dessert given how amazing the food was but instead settled on the white hot chocolate made with almond milk. Again a culinary delight pushing boundaries. Can’t wait to eat here again next season."

"Back to the Beavers after a decade, we forced The Star to always be there, just - on- the slopes above the Menuires, in front of the small village of apartments Les Montagnettes. Great place to stop for lunch or drink a drink, and to our pleasant surprise, also open for dinner! Ideal if you are in the Mountains and you don't want to cook. Good choice on the menu, including a number of local dishes. Very nice dining environment, thank you Damien and staff. (Original opinion) Returning in Les Menuires after a decade, we trod L'Etoile to be still there, right -on- the slopes above Les Menuires, opposite the little part village Les Montagnettes. Great place to stop for luch or a drink, and to our pleasant surprise, also open for Dinner! Ideal if you are in Les Montagnettes and don't want to cook. Good choice on the menu, including a number of local dishes. Very nice environment to have dinner, thank you Damien staff."

"The place has a classic old-fashioned French Chalet design, with shabby old furniture and strong smells of burned racketeering cheese. It is famous for its Apple desert, which was over, so we could not try it. Some of our food was nice and some less so. Deserts were tasty, especially the Creme Brulee"

"A negative start of stay. Then, in our opinion, the establishment took into account our remarks below. So we will have for our last two nights an upgrade. This time the new room is perfect and the reception service warmer. So we changed the rating from 1 to 4 stars. Without this incident the 5 stars were justified. We could come back. Below the notice in our choice of 1* We write this notice by being present in the establishment. First of all a warm welcome, or the main concern of the host staff is to take the stay. Not a pre-authorisation of your card we're talking about direct payment. You have not yet set foot in your room.... Then surprised when booking on the phone we are told that the standard rooms are equipped with balcony. We therefore reserve DIRECTMENT on the OFFICIAL site of the establishment and not an external site (Booking or other). A very small room or you don't know or put your suitcase too large for the room. A door not overlooking a balcony but under stairs. A noisy heating because if you want a comfortable heat, you will be entitled to the constant noise of the radiator....bref a stay that starts very badly. Only positive point is restoration. We are in half board and the first meal in buffet style was very correct. We plan to visit the spa but with the experience of the room.... we hesitate. In summary a good location is all we find there."

"Nous avons passer une commande par telephone à un Matthieu pour des pizzas et possibilité de faire 1 pate c'est ok' , on nous à donner une heure. Nous arrivons légèrement trop tôt. On nous propose de patienter en prenant un verre. 10 min plus tard nous demandons apres notre commande personne n'a connaissance de notre commande et personne ne répond au nom de Matthieu et on reprend la commande. Nous patientons toujours au bout de 20 min (salle comble mais bon..) finalement nous recevons notre commande. Sans pate mais avec une pizza pour remplacer la pate (sans demander notre avis) nous avons patienter 35 minute en payant notre consommation de patience. Nous arrivons pour enfin les manger et que voyons nous ? Les 2 suppléments olives sur l'addition ne sont pas sur les pizzas. Nous pouvons comprendre qu avec un restaurant full cela est compliqué.. Mais l'organisation pour les plats à emporter laisse à désiré. Les pizzas sont bonnes et heureusement !"
