"Having eaten here under previous owners, this was our first time eating here under new ownership. From start to finish it was clear that there was a lack of experience in running a restaurant. When we got there, we were the only people in the...restaurant which was strange for a Friday night and it soon became clear why. Upon our food order being taken, only our starters order was taken which was unusual, however the nachos that arrived were tasty. Our mains were ordered after the starters were cleared but the menus were left on the table, clearly showing a lack of experience among the waiting staff. Again, the mains were tasty, we had a chicken burger which was great and a linguine which was also very tasty, however the portion size was very small which was disappointing. The final part was the most disappointing, having asked for the bill I was presented simply with a card machine, no print out of the bill and it was a good job I checked the amount as £93 seemed expensive for 2 drinks, a starter and 2 mains! I pointed out that this was wrong, 5 minutes later the waitress came back, expecting a correct bill and we were asked what we had! I’ve never known a restaurant to not keep track of what is on a bill? Finally we got to the right amount after telling the staff exactly what we’d had, of which no apology was given at all. Overall, other than the portion size of the linguine, the food was excellent, however the service really spoilt the meal and needs to be drastically improved to meet the standards of the previous owners."

Absolutely beautiful food, I had steak and it was gorgeous. Service was impeccable. Atmosphere was really friendly and welcoming. Can’t wait to go again.

We booked having seen that it had been recently taken over by a new landlord. We had a lovely evening meal with friends. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic! Lovely to talk to the new landlord and lady. We will certainly be...back! Ver carta

Love this pub the beer garden is excellent and it is a genuinely friendly pub with staff wanting to help.Also not just paying lip service to being dog friendly dogs can go anywhere and there are doggy treats and water offered. The food is vastly...superior to most pub food.Recommend

we had just a really good Sunday lunch at this place, beautiful pate starter, beautiful chickenhead and the desert oh wow what a brownie is one of the best if not the best we ever had super eating all round, beautiful land pub...and great atmosphere and really nice staff we recommend this place 100%.

Popped in as we were passing by, went to the bar to get some drinks and were served by a surly barman. All the staff seemed disinterested and made us feel ill at ease. Halfway through our first round a young lad came and took...another order for us, half an hour later we were still waiting for the second lot of drinks so we left. we were greeted by laura who brought us to our table. my partner and I had both the broccoli and parmesan suppe for starters with homemade brot on the side. the suppe was really tasty and was complemented by homemade brot. I had served the hot pork cake on a potato bed with green leafy vegetables with a mini-gravure. my partner had the chicken with seasonal roast veg and stylton sauce. emily, kiera and james have checked to make sure we are in order and if we need anything else. both meals were excellent and we will certainly return.

so disappointed. our 2nd visit in their pub today and our last. we thought it was a family-friendly pub that we thought it was good that we could also bring our furry family member to a family association that we planned today. as we have planned to meet my intimidators who were very bad recently and were still nervous after the pandemic. but after we were in the pub for 30 minutes, we met with 3 vengeance men I believed had reserved a table in the name andy. who kept my daughter standing with me, her mother.
