"I recently enjoyed a delicious meal of stuffed peppers at this restaurant. However, the portion size was quite small for the price of £12, and the chips on the side were not cut properly. I was disappointed to find that there was no vegan menu available, only a menu with limited options for those with allergies. Thankfully, I was able to enjoy the specialty of the stuffed peppers. The atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely, but I was disappointed by the lack of vegan options available. Unfortunately, my vegan partner left the restaurant still hungry."

The cook wrote on the menu everything he could adapt to be vegan. I had a roasted veg and hummus sandwich it was amazing!

Food was excellent and service friendly and at an excellent pace. I’ve only ever given a couple of 5 reviews so 4 is really good. Not cheap but not crazy. Would certainly recommend. Ver carta

I enjoyed dinner, started with the erbe tomatensalat, which was delicious. I have both roasted sumac cauliflower and the hen of the woods (a mushroom dish) and both were delicious. was a cocos court, also beautiful.

I had a great time at dinner. I started with the delicious heritage tomato salad, followed by both the roasted Sumac Cauliflower and the Hen of the Woods mushroom dish for my main course, both of which were delicious. For dessert, I had a coconut dish which was also amazing.

full vegetarian menu that looked me vegan options to have. they were very helpful and have taken into account our nutritional needs. the food was so beautiful and beautiful. after that there was a nice lounge to relax and play. this is a country house hotel, so it is not cheap, but it is a decadent place, very beautiful done. I found the restaurant to have a full vegetarian menu with potential vegan options. The staff were attentive to our dietary needs and the food was both delicious and aesthetically pleasing. The restaurant also offered a cozy lounge area for relaxation. Although it may be on the pricier side due to its nature as a country house hotel, the overall experience was luxurious and well-executed.

only had one, granted, delicious meal of filled paprika, but at £12 the part was quite small and the small side of the chips was not really cut. there was no vegan menu. there was a menu with a dirty allergy. ... with nothing vegan on the menu. to the happiness for the specificity of the filled paprika! a beautiful place, but, and dogs are welcome, which for me are lacking in vegan food. my vegan man is still hungry!

"Renowned for its vertiginous landscape and breathtaking views the lake district has always been a firm favourite for the outdoor type. But in recent times Cumbria has quietly built a reputation as a first class foodie destination boasting the most Michelin star restaurants in a county outside London. We were keen to try the ambitious 1863 in Pooley Bridge proudly named after the date it was built. The modern version was welcoming and well furnished with plenty of interesting memorabilia to browse between courses. The 7 course tasting menu started with the regular amuse bouche, tasty but not stunning and there was a suprise glass of bubbles with the wine pairing. The opening venison tartare was splendid, packed in flavour with a welcome hazelnut texture contrast. All courses were excellent but the star of the show was undoubtedly the Creedy Carver duck, perfectly cooked, well seasoned, a crispy skin and accompanied with duck leg wrapped in savoy cabbage and pumpkin seeds. The wine pairings were well matched although the Rioja Blanco, with the halibut; was perhaps slightly over woody for my pallet. If there was one criticism the sommelier needs some work, particularly if there is ambition to join the Cumbrian elite with a star. The closing expresso was weak and my Balvenie 12 was wrecklessly delivered with a lump of ice but overall an enjoyable fine dining experience and well recommended."

"Popped in on Christmas eve with 7 adults and 2 children after an impromptu Yuletide walk around Aira force. The Inn was fully booked and we were offered a heated booth outside, before staff realised (due to the time we popped in they could re arrange some seatings for a later booking which meant we could indeed sit inside. Which was fabulous as we had accepted the outside booth, inside was much better for our youngest child and meant we could all sit together. We had a designated server for the tables who was very polite, patient and helpful. Food came out extremely quickly (bearing in mind it was also Christmas eve and full to the brim with diners Most of our table had the Sunday lunch and were rather full afterwards. Our disabled son was allowed to order off menu, Toast, which many places don't allow once breakfast is no longer served. Childrens deserts were a little slower to get to the table (as I say the Inn was extremely busy!! They were scrumptious and worth the wait. The decor was lovely and festive. To conclude, a Lovely space, nice and warm, friendly staff, good food, speedy service, free parking! Well worth a visit. Huge thanks to the wonderful team for making our visit so pleasant. Nearby activities: Aira force Ullswater lake Ullswater steamers Horseriding Kayaking Shops Walkability: Lots of good walks around. Food drinks: Food was tasty. Lots of options for alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. My disabled son is fussy with his food, the server allowed him to order off menu. Maximus ordered Toast, he was asked if he would like jam and butter. (Some places won't allow the ordering of toast after breakfast serving is closed"

"Having got married at Gretna Green at 11:30, our extremely casually convened wedding arrangements led us here. We had no plan whatsoever; other than to “elope”, or as far as one can do so these days, with four friends to act as witnesses, and go...to Gretna to get married. Having tied the knot, we found ourselves heading home to Teesside, realising that anywhere we could head to to have a meal together was looking unlikely on account of lunchtime service finishing at 2pm. Plans changed. On the motorway. And we’re so glad they did. Upon arrival, dressed in our wedding finery (I guess that most groups of people don’t arrive at the Sun Inn dressed in bow ties, Tweed Suits, some glamour, a kilt and Laboutain heels — the ideal hiking and outdoor pursuits wear) when asked if we were going somewhere nice, we confessed to having got married an hour previously and just fancied some lovely grub and a table for 6. The staff genuinely threw out the red carpet for us. Utterly unprompted. Even when we advised that we didn’t want any fuss. Within 10 minutes a table for six had been prepared with table dressings and fresh flowers and we were ushered through to the dining room. We were all stumped for choice with a lovely menu to choose from; and were probably being a bit greedy in making our choices but, when in “holiday mode” and with a lovely and diverse range of choices to make, we went for staters and mains. All dietary requirements accommodated for where do you start? A coeliac, two vegetarians (one of which is lactose intolerant), the table from hell! But accommodate us they did. And in style. Only one minor hiccup being which a breadbun that wasn’t gluten free but issue resolved. The food was delicious, our travelling companion and curry aficionado deeply impressed with the prawn curry in particular. Just a lovely, lovely experience topped off by one of the regulars in the main bar sending through some wedding favours as a wee gift for us all. Cannot thank the lovely people at the Sun Inn enough for their kindness and hospitality. Made our day completely and yes, we will be making a return trip on “Star Wars Day” (May the Fourth) next year for our first anniversary. Just lovely. In the nicest and best possible way. Thank you all so so much. You made our day."
