"This is under new management (owners also run The Windmill Restaurant, Somersham . They are doing a fantastic job (unlike the previous owner and must have employed a top notch chef, because the food is outstanding so much so that we have been 4 times in 5 weeks. They have a set menu (excellent value and an à la carte menu. I recommend the chicken Caesar salad (I wouldn’t normally go for salad, but this was what I refer to as a ‘meaty’ salad (that doesn’t necessarily mean meat, but a hearty, full salad with a lot of ingredients I recently heard the requirements for a good salad being discussed on Radio 4 and this salad had everything: Texture, oiliness (a tasty dressing , a lot of lovely vegetation, such as radiccio (cannot spell it , baby leaf spinach, pea shoots, carrots ... I cannot remember everything though, there was so much (but not overdone . I tried it a second time and it was different, but just as good, and had the addition of bacon. The Dirty burger and chips ... well, my partner and I agree that this is the tastiest burger we ever had (and I used to live in the States!! We also had a sharer starter platter (breads, breadsticks, olives and meat which was lovely and good value. They have a nice bar, you can eat on the terrace (sheltered if you want or inside and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable (we tested them on their knowledge of the history of Slepe Hall it used to be a girls’ school . Really impressed, very happy customers. Go there!"

Superb lunch, great value.....and the duphinoise potatoe was the best I've ever tasted! Compliments to the chef Keith. Great time with ex work colleagues, yet again, the food never fails to delight!

We have just enjoyed a superb takeaway Sunday lunch from Slepe Hall hotel. There was plenty of delicious food and piping hot gravy, all served up in separate containers. If you fancy giving your cook the day off and a treat, give Slepe Hall a try

Lunch with friends in the bar no atmosphere but chose this as so little choice on the lunch menu in adjoining room. Pasta dishes fine but others were overpriced and not good. £3.50 for a bowl of chips?! Has potential to do ok but need better staff responses to queries and better value for money to survive in this competitive town!

After visiting many different drinking establishments in different areas of the country I can confidently say that Slepe Hall is a perfect place for a relaxing drink during these unprecedented times. Treat yourself and sit outside enjoying the sunset in a perfectly safe environment. Enthusiastic attentive staff, well trained, good attitude and customer service!

We had a wonderful afternoon tea at Slepe Hall. I called to enquire before booking as I have a nut allergy and, after a chat with the Head Chef, I was reassured and made a booking. The food was fabulous, and the tea was lovely too. The measures put in place for Covid-19 prevention made us feel safe throughout, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

My husband and I had a delicious vegetarian lunch in a delightful, cosy setting here on Friday, with friendly, efficent service. Great location just outside the centre of St. Ives with plenty parking, and fabulous, old country house style beautifully refurbished. We had tomato risotto and two wonderful puddings an excellent chef! We were also grateful that our main waitress was wearing a plastic visor. (I do feel strongly about this when people are standing directly over us and our food it is simple hygiene and good manners and I wish other restaurants would do the same. Our only two points for improvement are: 1 please provide more vegetarian and vegan options, and label these clearly we li... Ver carta

Recently moved to the area and opted to try this place for a mid week meal. Lovely front terrace to enjoy the evening sunshine, service a little slow due to being very busy due to the current government eat out help out scheme. We did need to seek waiters a couple of times and did feel we had been forgotten about as the dining rooms indoors were very busy we opted to wait patiently with drinks outside. Once served and seated indoors the food served was delicious and well worth the wait. I've given this a 5 star rating as all 3 meals were presented beautifully, were fresh and piping hot and most of all were delicious. Great value for money and a great choice of menu. Usually I wouldnt have be...

Nice location. The Crayfish Pawn Starter portion was very small at £5.50. No more than two mouthfuls. The roast lamb was good but the roast beef was over-cooked, dry and hard. This was declined but the server said this was how people preferred it but then said last week it was good being succulent and slightly rare! This is how I would have liked it. Vegetable selection OK but the Yorkshire Puddings (only one per person) very small, flat soggy. Gravy disappointing, obviously came from a packet and not made with the roast meat juices. The Pecan Pie had to be sent back as it tasted musty. The Bread Pudding was grey, stodgy and cold. Clearly bought-in and not made in the kitchen. Served with on...

"Re opened, refurbished and back with a bang! A classic thatched country pub which has been lovingly and sympathetically restored to more than its former glory, with new owners and new management. It now features a wonderful and sizeable pub garden with stunning views over the Cambridgeshire countryside with the quaint addition of Highland Cows who seem to enjoy watching the customers! Having been for drinks and food now on a couple of occasions, the menu is sophisticated, tasty with plenty of variety. If you're enjoying a drink in the garden, for nibbles, I highly recommend the cheese fritters they compliment a cool glass of Prosecco perfectly. There is an extensive wine list and a selection of cocktails on offer. Inside the pub, it's all olde world charm but with a modern twist and as much I love the warm weather, I almost can't wait to see a roaring fire in the two fireplaces! The staff are friendly and welcoming it's the sort of pub I'd be happy to go into on my own for a light lunch or just a drink. I can't wait to try their Sunday lunch which I've heard good things about already from those who have been! Considering it's a whole new team of people, the service understandably was a little bit slow as they were learning the ropes. However, on my last visit, I was impressed by how much slicker it was they're obviously fast learners. Can't wait to go back and support this quality pub/restaurant."
