"When I come to eat with the thought, all my localities and nationalities fall in; Italian pizzas and salads, hot on rice at Thai, sushi at the Japanese corner...the list could be continued endlessly. However, Greek food does not count on it alone because I would call it difficult to eat and the amount of garlic/drum that is used more frequently. Only very rare, perhaps every 2 3 years, it makes me feel like Greek cuisine, but then really. In the case of my visit to Restaurant Athens it was exactly the same, and I had almost forgotten how (good Greek cuisine can taste! The Athens restaurant is located in the middle of the old town of Lich, a small town near Gießen. We, a group of 4 people, were nearby and followed a recommendation from the family, otherwise we might not have discovered this nice restaurant. Already when entering Athens we felt comfortable, the service was friendly and accommodating. My hunger was very great and so the evening I would definitely call successful in the end. But now in turn. LAGE: Mmmhhh... On this late evening the hunger was very big and Lich (t was close, which is why we stopped here. It seems to be quite central within the small town. INTRODUCTION: At first glance, the establishment of Athens seemed to me a little outdated, but at second glance it had a classic charm and not always restaurants must be polished to high gloss. I wouldn't take off points for the setup, it was authentic and really nice after the first Ouzo! SERVICE: The service this evening was diligent, friendly and responded to my special requests. Without garlic, without onions, there is no problem with a little more salad. The waiting times for food and drinks were appropriate. Not so long that you almost starve. But not too short that you become skeptical. ESSEN: Now comes the big plus! At last, big portions. A restaurant like this one, which advertises with large portions and provides such uncompromising thumbs up! I ordered a vegetarian plate, my accompaniments ordered gyro leaves, lambspokes and a Greek salad. My vegetarian plate contained Giants (Riesenbohnen in tomato sauce, Krautsalat (fresh, baked feta (boah!) and Tzaziki (for me extra without garlic . The selection of vegetarian dishes was large, but the menu generally offered a wide selection. DRUMHERUM: When we fed in Athens, some guests were there. But I would not call it full. However, the guests at the neighboring table were very nice, so we quickly got into the conversation. When ordering a common coffee ́s at the end, however, it turned out that the owner (no proper machine yet). For me as a coffee junkie a real problem. The owner, however, said that he just took over the shop and refreshed him with an espresso machine next week. Bad luck for me this evening, but maybe next time. To complete the visit, one should mention that the toilets are clean. In total, I can definitely recommend a visit to the Athens restaurant in Lich if the hunger is great and you are looking for a solid starting point without a buckling taste. The price performance ratio is good. So we'll see each other in 2 3 years..."

We had dinner at this restaurant for the first time. The restaurant looks pretty nice and the staff is very friendly. We had Gyros and had a special request. Everything was great. The gyros came out pretty cold. The other food was excellent and hot. The restaurant was empty, just a few more sat behind us. The only thing I find somewhat disturbing was the volume of music very low. Sounds weird. If you only have 2 tables of customers, everyone can listen to the others. So I felt a little weird talking when the customers hear every word. But that could only be me. So the restaurant itself and the service was good. Come back sometime.

The only thing which I find a bit disturbing, the volume of the music was very low. Sounds weird but! If you have just 2 tables of customers everyone can listen to the other one.
