"We were a group of 13 people looking for a good place for dinner after a long day of travel, first time in Zurich. We went for a walk at the city and stopped here.We wanted to taste local food and were glad to find a space here for our party.Food and wine were very good. We had several plates (since we were 13), including the cordon blue with rosti; you should give it a try. The restaurant has a big salon, so there is plenty of space if you didn't have reservations. Anyway, check first since it can get busy during high season. The best was our waitress, she was very friendly and took good care of us. He spoke several languages including ours (spanish). The surprise was that after dinner she ask us to sing the current music hit at Puerto Rico, which she heard there at Zurich. We had a great meal, Great Service, great first day at Zurich."

Very nice atmosphere and rich menu. I suggest to pay a visit even just for a Bier when in Zürich! There is a rich variety of Würst and typical side dishes!

Yes very Touristy but well worth it. MUST BOOK or go early to avoid disappointment. this place is packed out. it serves all traditional German type food. Sausages, Pork, Snitzel, Potatoes, Saurkraut, Beer, Pretzels. the surrounding are an old medival settings. the whole atmosphere is about food, fun and laughter. everyone enjoyed themselves. food isn't stunning but this place is more about the ambience! It is overrated. Having dined in many local Swiss restaurants, this is by far the most disappointed one as compared with the money we paid for. Apart from the touristy atmosphere of the restaurant, the waiter served us with the assumption that we needed more mineral water, he just placed a bottle of water without asking us. Of course, that bottle was charged. Presentation of dishes was not particularly impressive. The restaurant was crowded and noisy. I guess it is fit for big party so that you will not be distributed by the noise.

If you can get a reservation, do it! It's a popular spot for a reason :) This is an old and pretty famous Swiss German restaurant. As an American, the first thing I loved was: The Apple Juice. Really! Apparently it's common to drink Apple Juice with your meal - or maybe the people I was with were an odd Swiss and German, but who cares - but anyways I got an Apple Juice and it was much better than the stuff in the States.Honestly, don't recall what dish I got but, it was some sort of Swiss German sausage and potatoes dish. Very typical Swiss. And it was great! It's fun to see the business meeting lunches take place in here too as it's in downtown Zurich.

"This is my fav Italian joint in Zurich. La Famiglia Tremonte is a small, family run cafe-restaurant that serves excellent and authentic Italian food at prices that are low compared to the norm in Zurich.Famiglia Tremonte is rather inconspicuously located at the corner of Zurlindenstrasse and Birmensdorferstrasse, a couple of doors away from The Desperado Mexican Restaurant. You might need to look for it a little: I lived practically next door and did not notice it for almost a year, and even then a friend had to point it out to me.The restaurant is mostly a takeout with very little seating, i.e. 7 people inside, and when the weather is goo, about 5 people outside. The ambience is basic but, like most things in Switzerland, the interiors are very clean. Staff and service are very goo. The food here is awesome! Authentic Italian fare that is probably heavily influenced by Sicilian tradition since that is where the family is from. I used to visit almost every day because the food tastes great and the prices are so low for Zurich. I have tried almost everything: several pasta dishes, polpettine, stuffed bell peppers, meatloaf, piadina, and of course, the fabulously tasty and hot chilli infused EVOO. I enjoyed every dish I ordered. Great stuff! I strongly recommend the super-hot chilli infused EVOO as a seasoning for almost all dishes, but especially the pasta dishes that come in a cream sauce. Please be careful with chilli EVOO: 0.5 tbsp. for noobs, and a max. of 2 tbsp. for those who like it hot. The chilli EVOO, when used appropriately, adds great flavour to your dish. The piadina is the best I have eaten - period. I have been all over the world, spent a lot of time in Italy and New York (: great place for Italian food lovers :), and I still think this is the best piadina ever. They also serve some nice Italian desserts -- I've tried a few but have forgotten the names. They also have a small selection of Italian ingredients for sale. I bought the pesto and was happy with it. You also get a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic Italian drinks to go with the food.Prices are relatively low by Zurich standards: I rarely ever ate for more than CHF 15, and if I skipped the drinks it was usually around CHF 10. Of course, this varies a bit according to what you order.Highly recommended. Glad I found this place. Great for office workers in the vicinity."
