Ristorante Pizzeria da Tosto

I've been trying every 5 pizzerias in wooden churches for years and the way that makes it great is the best with their wood stove and a great touch.

were there for business with 7 people. have ordered all pizza, very great selection, very great ofen, delicious pizza! absolutely recommended. nice service, all believe a family. I really liked it!

Going there every Thursday with my colleagues. The pizza is simply the best in the area by far! The service is amazing the choice is really wide. Looking forward they will come back at the end of the summer to enjoy again my Thursday Pizza.

I have been there a few times now. Mainly on Fridays. There are often families and it usually busy, but not too busy. The food is what you can expect of an Italian restaurant. It is good, but do not expect exceptional menus. The hospitality...is excellent and you can clearly see they try to give you a good service. I like it there!

I am lucky enough to live in this area of Bavaria. My office is located just up the hill from the restaurant so it is convenient for me to get to. They have by far the best pizza in the area. They have a good...and well balanced lunch menu with good prices. The main menu is complete. The owners of the restaurant are just great! Italian and friendly! If you find yourself in Holzkirchen and are interested in a pizza this is a must have.

Having tried all but one Pizzaplace in Holzkirchen, Da Tosto is positively the best. The dough is as thin as you would expect it from an Italian pizzaiolo and the pizza is baked in a wood fired oven. They also offer a good choice of varieties...and are very flexible if you would like to create your own pizza. Pasta is good, too, although nothing special. In winter they offer fresh fish and mussels, which are worth a try. The ambience is nondescript but okay. The only downside is the service which is average at best; we had to order every dish twice, the first waitress sent another to take the order yet again, and it took far too long until we got our drinks. Based on admittedly a few great reviews we tried this restaurant out. There is not much that I can be positive about but I will attempt to be balanced and fair. Firstly it does not NEARLY deserve the rating it has. This restaurant is certainly...mediocre at best, even for the little town of Holzkirchen. We have eaten pizzas in many restaurants in many cities and in many countries so have a fair idea of what should be served. The pizza dough was not at all like the Italian pizza standard and the specific pizzas we had were poorly assembled with dubious quality of ingredients and badly presented. The dough underneath was dirty burnt and the overall taste was rather bland and we were reluctant...
