"We came here on trip advisor reviews because our hotel restaurant was closed. We were not disappointed. We came on a hot sunny day in June and sat outside on the terrace overlooking the vineyards. ( they have plenty of umbrellas, so you sit in the shade)The service was very friendly and attentive. It was packed with Germans (my dad always told me the locals always know where best to eat).We had a 3 course meal for 2 people with wine and beer and coffee for €65. I thought that excellent value. For starters we had a carrot ginger soup and a salad with prawns wrapped in a shredded grilled potato which was surprisingly delicious. For mains - braised beef with homemade dumplings and fresh cranberries and I had a surf and turf salad of smoked salmon and slices of beef with fresh asparagus. And for desert I had mandarin sorbet and hubby had an enormous dish of strawberries and cream. I have to say it was all very good. We were delighted with our choice and that our hotel restaurant was closed !"
