Route 66 Steakhouse

if you like hamburgers, big salad bowls and other American style food, here is the place to go; the environment is not too inviting, but inside it's ok

While stopping in the nearby V8 Hotel for a couple of days we thought we try Route 66. The food was very good, great service so we went again the next night

some people love this place, but I find it uninteresting. eating is good, but the last time I came here, the route 66 version of the prime rib was nothing like. Ver carta

two stars even factored in with the inviolence. the decor was something above the top, but American kitchen is a novelty here, so it was very appropriate. it felt.

Mainly steaks and burgers in high quality. I never had a bad experience with the food there. The staff a but rustic but absolutely friendly and the atmosphere is good. A high recommendation for steaks and burgers in the Sindelfingen area.

I was at Route 66 last week with cravings for a good steak. this restaurant has a vast variety of choices and I asked for the Rib Eye 400 grs raw and I got exactly what I want it. a great raw rib eye. the service was really good taking into consideration that the restaurant was really full ... if you go on Wednesday, its highly recommended to get a reservation. the bartender speaks great English. I can't really agree with comments on the service. It is not a 5star restaurant, but the waiters were kind and helpful. I was quite astonished when they told me they run out of rib-eye sreak ( how can this happen in a steakhouse?I had a rump steak which was cooked as per my order, therefore I was happy. A colleague had a burger, and he was also pleased.Pricing is quite expensive (300gr. rib-eye for 30€) but there is quality and to find a good steakhouse in the region, turns to be a challenge.

We went there with a few German family members. When they noticed we were American, the waitress walked away and made a rude comment in the back room about us, which we not only heard but understood. A woman with witch like hair came and scalded my daughter in law about her baby. The servicer was unfriendly. The food was ok but nothing great. The table they sat us at had a dirty tablecloth we flipped it. My daughter wanted to take home some food and they had no take out containers. Something is lacking here, or they just don't want Americans to dine there. We dined at several restaurants in Calw area with excellent food and service, this is not one of them, in my opinion.

Route 66 was only few years ago an insiders' tip but nowadays it is well known. Therefore you usually don't get a free table depending on the time you want to eat there. Anyway I would recommend to book in advance. It is mainly steaks, burgers, spareribs. salad in high quality and always fresh served. I prefer vegetarian food but here I eat chicken. Noone would starve! Route 66 maybe not very special for some people i.e for US guests but it is worth going there. The stuff is a little rustic (the way the people are round there) nevertheless very friendly.For people living around Sindelfingen/Böblingen or visiting Route 66 is probably not to far outlying.
