Royals Fish and Chips

These were the best fish and chips I've ever had, two days in a row. They were delicious!

Driving home from a day at the beach, we did a quick Google for gluten free fish and chips. With 2 coeliacs in the family it was great to find Royals, my son was really happy that they had gluten free battered sausage.

Other half wanted to treat me to a F&C supper. Very underwhelmed with the size and value I’m afraid and even with increased costs, what was served is minuscule for £6.05 (not including chips). Previously had good meals….not today, cannot recommend. Ver carta

we visit often because of the excellent gluten free options which are Coeliac safe ,, however tonight’s were awful , the chips were the worst ever and think the oil needed changing about a week ago ! Created a lot of wasted food and kids were still hungry!!!

Went to this chip shop on the evening of the 5th July 2022 and ordered three battered sausage and chips, did not hang around the counter, left the staff to it. When I got home the sausages were so over cooked and tasted awful borderline burnt. Would not ever use this shop again would go as far as to say the worst fish and chips I’ve ever had, absolutely awful and would suggest to avoid this shop

Yesterday we took advantage of Buy One Get One Free offer in Bognor Observer. Absolutely fabulous meal! The skate is amazing and so many chips we could have fed the 5,000!! I know of no other fish and chip shops that sell skate these days so try to use Roiyals regularly. Just wish we could sit and eat at the premises instead of takeaway. Would feel like an amazing dining experience if we could and am sure it would do well. Ver carta

The chips were ok, not special, but the fish was dreadful The batter, instead of being a nice golden colour was dark brown , hard and crunchy , it seemed like it had been re cooked, it was that hard, and this was at 6 o clock in the evening, so it should have been freshly cooked I was very disappointed, and had I of seen the fish at the shop instead of when I got home I would have complained there and then My advice is check your food before you leave the shop

On Fathers Day we were staying in Bognor and couldn’t find a pub to eat in the evening. Everywhere was solid so we decided to have fish and chips. They were fantastic! Freshly cooked and really good portions. The young man behind the counter was great as one of us wanted vinegar and salt and I only wanted salt. He put everything we wanted in two boxes and wrote on each box so we wouldn’t get muddled. It was probably the best Fish and Chips we’d ever had and I thought the young man was the icing on the cake. 10/10 on everything thank you.

My wife is gluten and onion intolerant, and one of the things she misses more than anything is not being able to eat ‘fish and chips’ from a chip shop. Today, however she was euphoric as we discovered the ‘Royal Fish and Chip’ shop on a day out to Bognor. It was a spotlessly clean shop with wonderful helpful staff. A detailed ‘gluten free’ price list was displayed, and the prices did not incur any increase. Every item the shop produces is available as ‘gluten free’ on a daily basis. We cannot rate this shop highly enough, as we’ve never ever encountered a ‘gluten friendly’ business like this one. We will certainly be returning to this superb fish and chip shop. Ver carta
