Delicious menu in a warm and convivial atmosphere, we were looked after very well and had a great evening, excellent choices.

A beautiful meal in a beautiful setting. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We would highly recommend a visit!

Despite staffing pressure, our host found us a table and gave us a warm welcome service was excellent as they don't take more customers than they can serve well. The pre dinner cocktail in the lounge was lovely, the amuse bouche and everything was tasty and well presented. Many thanks to our friendly and attentive host and skilled chef!

Stunning! From ambience and welcome right at start Russell’s kept on being great. Wee touches like the small cup of pea, broccolli and Parmesan soup as an appetiser alongside fabulous service. Starter of risotto with goats cheese amazing and just right balance, not too much/too heavy. We had venison and steak for main both of which cooked perfectly. Good wine selection-took photo of the red wine in hope I can find it again.

We didn’t have a booking but the restaurant fitted us in which we really appreciated. We were not disappointed the food was exceptional and so was the service. The menu is small, but perfect. We all ordered a different main course and none of us were disappointed. I have a starter again, beautiful and the rest of the party a dessert again fantastic. The complimentary soup was a nice touch too. It was the first evening of our stay and it could not have been any better. A really great restaurant. Thank you.

We were desperate to find somewhere to eat and were very kindly fitted in at 6 p.m. They were extremely short-staffed due to a local Covid outbreak and not wanting to use their usual staff for fear of infecting customers, but you wouldn't have known from the standard of welcome and food we received. The proprietor could not have been more helpful and even printed out my ferry tickets for me after I mentioned I'd left mine at home and was worried we would be refused entry to the ferry next day. Certainly service well above and beyond. And that's before I even mention the food, which was consistently excellent and overall extremely good value for what we paid.

We stayed at the Spean Lodge the same night and this place was recommended to us by the owners of the Spean Lodge. How lucky were we to take up there suggestion. Its not often i get BLOWN AWAY by food as FOOD/COOKING as food/cooking is my passion but the Scallop starter is quite literally one of the most greatest meals I've have ever eaten. The Steak i had for mains while it was cooked to perfection was not so good the taste just wasn't there for me, Chips etc were excellent. Wine list and service were also magnificent. We have been eating at The Smiddy for many years and are never disappointed, this week was no exception. We were made welcome and were very well looked after by Robert, as always, and Marie, and our meals were sublime, congratulations to Glen and his team! It was all so good the tasty carrot and ginger ‘amuse bouchée’; delicious starters of asparagus with poached egg, and goat’s cheese and beetroot terrine, with homemade bread; our perfect fillet steaks; and to die for pineapple and ginger puddings with lashings of caramel sauce and fab ice cream. My partner and I was spending a walking holiday in the highlands and if there was one restaurant I would say is a must it would be this one. The decor is lovely and inviting, the staff friendly, courteous and very considerate. The food was amazing, it was so thoughtfully put together with the flavours, they just worked so well. My partner started with the chicken liver pate, she said the presentation and taste far exceeded her expectations.
