Schinner Braustuben

Accidentally walked in, amazing good and lovely service. I ordered trout and it wad splendidly cooked. The beer is amazing fresh. Ok, enough with the compliment, a good place.

before we have gotten dam we have eaten in this beautiful restaurant. service was impeccable, beer excellent and eating delicious. horseradish suppe and venison both excellent. highly recommended!

this restaurant reminded us of a local gas house years ago. the interieur was warm and cozy, the food was excellent and the staff was great. if we had stayed in town for longer, we would have eaten here again Ver carta

Large portions of classical German food. And decent assortment of local beers. This topped off with very welcoming and cheerful personnel, made for a terrific lunch visit. They have a play pen with toys. Perfect if you bring children.

close to wagners villa wahnfried, this guest house offers typical Franconian dishes in an atmosphere that can only be described comfortably with the German word. children are welcome. the service was friendly and obligated. my meal tasted perfectly right.

this was our first time when eating in the hustle and bustle, but we will be back again. eating was very good and they also brewed their own beer and make their own different tastes of schnapps. the restaurant is beautiful inside, but not very large, so. reservations are highly recommended. Forget it...there are so many great and less famous places(luckily!)to get a delicious plate of food and a good beer in Bayreuth. At this specific restaurant you need to be a VIP person to get a table and the staff makes you feel that you...definitely not part of the club. Very disappointing experience.

I tried to get a place for one at Schinners (I have already been there several times) and although the restaurant was completely empty, i was told all tables were already booked (the restaurant is pretty big). I leaved the place and when i came...back one hour later most of the tables were still empty. I couldn't really say if it was the beard, the fact that I speak german with an accent or just that the waitress has spent too much time working next to the grave of Richard Wagner, but that really is not the way to make customers feel welcome. As far as i'm concerned i'm not going back.

Schinner is a brewery situated next to Wahnfried, Wagner's house in the centre of Bayreuth. I have eaten there three or four times over the years and have had excellent and poor experiences. Last year was, sadly, one of the worse ones. I've never found...anywhere in Germany that knows how to prepare calf's liver and Schinner was no exception. The service can be excellent or inattentive and rude, it's something of a lottery. It's very popular with locals, though, and can be difficult to get a table if you don't reserve, at least when they're there, which is very early evening, between You'll have more luck afterwards.
