"we visited the brasserie on a Saturday night. we started with appetizers like salade niçoise and calamaretti. very good quality and a perfect start for a nice dinner. as main course we ordered the chateaubriand and entrecôte. I must say that the meat. the quality (dry) was really excellent. unfortunately the qulity of the sides (kartoffeln and veggies), where the most average! big weinlist with focus German and French wein. worth a visit!"

Perfect food, best service! I tried the special dried roastbeef (60 days) with potatoes, a side salad and Balsamico-portwine-jus. After all the baba au ruhm...

Though I liked the food (good meat), I found the prices to be out of proportion. The whole experience just feels ok, not bad, but overpriced. And the menu lacks originality.

This place not exactly in the center of SB, it's worth a visit. The place has a particular atmosphere. The food was really good and the meat was perfect. The prince is not so cheap but not so expensive. Easy to find a parking spot....Recommend reservation.

for meat lovers, in any case. quality eat and a good list of crying. because I don't love meat especially, I went to laugh what was very good. clean and comfortable environment, they don't make any hurry, staid there long after eating, while more wein drink. nice to even talk about work and sweat. I'll be back.

Schlachthof Brasserie offers great food to average prices. For meat lovers, they have very nice cuts, cooked to perfection. They have an inside and an (half-)outside patio, a good wine selection and very good waiters. It is right on the streett, in a food processing...district, so not a nice scenery but very easy access.

beautiful and secret atmosphere, very good meal times, more meat and fish oriented. very good wine list and good profis work not only in the kitchen, but everywhere. reserve some time because it is not a place to eat quickly. some parking possibilities around, a...park and a promenade near the river. so you can go and go there

this brasserie is practically opposite schroders where we dinate on the way to italia. it was closed on this day and we are because the menu was inviting, we try it on the return. eating was good as the service, although. it was a good time to sit between, read the menu and order in the location. other than that, it was a reasoanable culinary experience.

We have visited this restaurant on every visit to Saarbrücken and this will be the last. Firstly the service was very slow, even with only tables occupied. The prices are very high, if you order a steak, that's all you get on the plate,...everything else is extra. The steak was perfect. When we checked the bill, we found an extra drink of had been added, we did get the money back. Shame our good memories are gone.

"I'm not keen on negative reviews, as everyone is entitled to an off night, bit the experience was pretty shoddy. Was a busy Saturday night in Saarbrucken, World Cup quarter finals playing everywhere... and we were a party of 7 that hadn't booked anywhere on...an overnight stop over. We checked with the restaurant if they could take us, they said yes and led us to the table. Staff were pleasant and helpful. This was about 8pm. We ordered drinks, food, one of which was a mixed platter of cold meats as an entrée. The mixed platter arrived an hour later. An hour. For sliced cold meat. The waitress was apologetic and as we were in no rush (at that point), we just ordered more drinks. The platter was pretty average, but then we'd just come from Italy where Antipasti, Salami and Cheese is infinitely better. By 10pm there was no sign of the mains. We asked when the dinner might come and the waitress said she would check. When she came back, the response was that they couldn't tell when they would be ready, but not soon... and that was it. This is 10pm. Two hours after coming in and being told they could accommodate us. The outside tables of the restaurant were busy, the large inside pretty empty. We chose to pay (a lot, because it's pretty expensive) for what we'd consumed, and left. Shame the staff in the restaurant kitchen didn't care as much about their customers as the waitress did, but even so... a shoddy service, elevated prices that simply benefits from its location in central Saarbrucken. There are better alternatives all around the centre, some of them much better value too. I'm sure they have better days... But if you want to get a reliable, quality service at a good price... Maybe don't choose a Saturday night at Gaathaus Zahm."
