Schloss Rheinfels - Menú

We had most lovely dinner at Schloss Rheinfels Niche table. It is a private setting overlooking to river Rhein and Sankt Goar with splendid scenery to admire. Our waiter was nice and very well mannered.

Rheinfels Castle offers a spectacular view of the Rhine and a beautiful terrace café, where a beer and a meal become a special memory. Tour the castle ruins and feel like 1000 years ago. A great place to visit.

homely smoke in the building (instruction sign: "we do not leave them in the cold. smoker corner under the stairs)." on the terrace is smoked (where you want to enjoy the beautiful view and the eating. on the other side is also smoked outside. Thus, three sides are cleaned. you could also write: we leave them in smoke.

Didn't have room for us in the main restaurant, so they recommended the Burg Schenke one floor down. Turned out to be the much better choice, since we also had 2 dogs. Wonderful terrace with an amazing view of the Rhein the the Loreley. Food was good and the waiter was very accommodating, even when it started to rain. He ensured we had cushions and rugs and continued to serve us, whereas many would have asked us to go inside. Highly recommend it.

Our party of 4 ate lunch at the castle on a sunny June day, with a table on the terrace overlooking the river. The view was fantastic! Half of our group had salads, and half had full meals; all meals were well prepared. We had to share the terrace with a large bus tour group, impairing the experience due to the group's rather loud conversations (I would have rated ithe experience higher had it not been for this). If you go, definitely ask for a table on the terrace along the wall.

This place is characterized as a gourmet experience... it is definitely not. We got a three-course dinner two nights in a row (pack deal) and on the first day, the older woman waiting for our table could really not be disturbed. The first two dishes were cold when they finally arrived and the last dish was warm and it took almost 3 hours to complete the dinner while other couples with other waiters did the same in less than 2 hours. On the second day the service was much better, but the food wasn't great yet.

We took the river boat there and then walked the rest. To get up to the castle you have to walk uphill for a couple of blocks. It’s pretty steep. There is some parking at the entrance. It was like everything else I have experienced here in Germany. You buy tickets and walk in. I imagine that you can just walk in without payment since no one is there to collect tickets or even check to make sure you have paid. The grounds are very neat. Lots of beautiful views from the top. There’s a small museum inside. The bathrooms were interesting.

This place is truly an experience like no other. It is very comfortable ( summer might be very hot as there is no air conditioning ) and after you have toured the old castle, you can just go back to your room and wonder at the view, and imagine the serenity of the people's lives living below. Only have two negatives . If you don't like stairs, or have very heavy suitcases , it's very tricky. Secondly, we were in a no smoking room and so were the rooms on either side , however, both in the evening and the morning we had cigarette smoke wafting into our room from the next door neighbours balcony, which is most unpleasant. Service doesn’t merit the price. Should have taken a hint from how gruff the hostess was on seating us, or when we didn’t even have menus while all of the locals. When she was short in explaining the parking, in so doing it caused me to spend an extra euro (not a big deal) but also to miss lunch being served. When asking her what to do with the ticket, she lied about what she had said, then said she doesn’t speak English well, then just turn and walked away from me while i was explaining the correct English phrase. I am sure to merit a spot as the hostess at a popular tourist location her resume extolled her English abilities. While explaining all of this to the manager, the hostess then ran...
