at the frenetic day during the edinburgh festival, the beer garden at spencer’s was an oasis of rest.

Lovely food and the service was excellent. Jazz looked after my whole family. We will be back next time we are in Edinburgh.

Wonderful food with great service, and all set in very pleasant surroundings. First time visit to Spencers and I must say that we were very happy about all aspects of our evening. Good value food and drinks too! Well worth a visit.

we booked this on the day and were surprised to get a table. obviously a hidden gem, it deserves to be more popular. the food was excellent and the service impeccable. weine are cheap and of good quality. we will surely go back there and recommend it to friends and family. Ver carta

we visited after we had given a groupon voucher, and due to the terrible weather we were told that all other bookings were canceled or not displayed. we were very impressed that as the only customers they have absolutely not made a compromise regarding quality or service and have fed us well with an absolutely fantastic meal. we will definitely return, and would recommend this well hidden bistro for anyone looking for a welcoming atmosphere and great eating.

I booked this restaurant because of its location. The menu looked great. The setting looked lovely. The hotel location looked perfect for a business dinner. When I arrived the restaurant was closed until August 1. I was told the manager contacted all reservationists. I received no notification. Plus, one member in my party called the location earlier in the week to check on food allergies. They were not told the restaurant would be closed either. Needless to say, I was very disappointed and would not recommend this restaurant for any occasion.

let them do the fact that it is in a cellar, to turn it off. plundering are deceptive and this is a magical place. inside it is quite cozy but full of character. more to the point that eating is from this world. one of the best meals I've ever had. the steak was cooked exactly on request and was really tasteful and delicate. had a light panic, as waiter thought her pistachios cheese cake was ready, but checked and found a disc for me....absolute heaven . I just wanted it to have eaten there and then again. coffee was hot .another bonus. I wish I found this place earlier. btw .management her waiter is a bad one. hold him tight! will definitely be back. Ver carta
