"Being vegetarians on holiday in Soutwold looking for a good lunch/dinner, we walked up one side of the main street and down the other, looking for a reasonably priced eatery. Opted for Squiers who offered an all day breakfast and was told they do a vegetarian option. When we got inside there was a 'special of the day ' board, and it was offering a nut roast, which we opted for. WOW, a nut roast with a selection of 8 vegetables, beautifully cooked and delicious, £9.95. If this had been on the board outside, vegetarians would have been fighting to get in the door. Squiers, let people know what vegetarian options you offer. Thank you for a really delicious dinner, but you could have saved us some footfall if you had advertised your vegetarian options outside, we could have chosen you much sooner."

What a charming little place. Lovely pot of tea with extra water. Beautiful vegetarian sausage bap. Felt like a lovely traditional English Cafe. I highly recommend a visit.

We arrived at 3:20 pm on a rainy afternoon and were disappointed to find that the cafe was closed. A chain was placed across the doorway, leaving us to wonder if they were not interested in or in need of our business.

Visited for lunch. Very interesting and tempting old fashioned sweet shop at the front! Warm friendly welcome, good range of choices. Enjoyed a cream tea and savoury tea between us. Good service, tasty food. Toilet is up some steep stairs, which would be an issue if mobility is limited.

My sister, mum and I ate at squires today all choosing different options from the menu. Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection, the portions were good and very well priced. Would definitely recommend this little gem of a cafe, not posh but comfortable. If it's good, well priced food your looking for then this is the place to go

We recently came here for breakfast. Whilst the staff were reasonably friendly and attentive, they seemed to struggle when the place got busy. However the bacon was nice enough, as was the flat white, though the sausage a bread a let down clearly value bought and not competitive when you consider the other options on the high street which offer much higher quality. The price was fair though but I would’ve paid a bit more for a nicer piece of meat! Ver carta

We visited this restaurant over 45 years ago, when Southwold was a simpler place without all the shops and cafes it has today. Squires had a charming atmosphere with its delicious scones and small pots of butter. The lunch options were reasonably priced and there was a good variety to choose from. Our waitress was lovely. However, in order to maintain its charm and timeless appeal, the restaurant could benefit from some updates and decluttering while still preserving its character.

We decided to stop by for breakfast and found the restaurant to be charming. The dining area was lovely, but unfortunately, that was the only positive aspect of our experience. The prices for the food were high and the service was extremely poor. It felt like we were interrupting the staff's morning chat as they rushed through our meal. The quality of the food did not match the price, as the sausages were cheap and unappetizing. The restroom was also difficult to access, located up a steep and narrow staircase.
