"Visited for the 1st time in a long time due to Covid and we always really enjoyed it previously. This visit was not good at all , apart from the lovely warm fire and the service which was fine , the food was most disappointing. I opted to have 2 starters and a side instead of a main course. The prawn cocktail sauce from a jar was awful and dolloped on the top , no accompanying bread and butter as expected. My hummus and flatbread which was cold was dried and old looking and my broccoli side dish was well over cooked and cold. All in all not a good experience, and we waited a while for it too. My partners burger he said was ok. I hope this was just a blip and that things have not gone downhill as it is one o& our locals."

Excellent food quick service.Staff very helpful and friendly. Dog friendly with plenty of water bowls for them. Good selection of Badger Beer. On a previous visit we sat outside in a lovely sunny position.

Good atmosphere. Attentive staff. My wife did not enjoy her roast beef, but my fish dish was great. Good idea to book, popular with locals and visitors to nearby campsite. Hosts local events, there was an upcoming classic car meet.

Visited many times and it has been a consistently good pub. Solid wood furniture, low ceilings, local beer, classic pub grub with modern updates (a Korean tofu dish most recently) and friendly staff. Dog friendly and outdoor seating

Charming little pub with well-spaced tables. It was a bit on the chilly side inside. The service was quick and friendly. The food was delightful; I had a cheese and onion cobb roll with skin-on fries, followed by a chocolate and orange torte. Excellent value for money, too!

Lovely weather and lovely place for spending time with friends and celebrate wedding anniversary! Watching the pictures you can see how much I liked it! We asked for small portions of fish and chips as we consider that for adults that is enough! Tasty beers and beverage selection and great champagne

This was our first visit, and we were impressed by everything. The pub has great COVID safety measures in place, including a one-way system. We enjoyed sitting in the front garden, and ordering food and drinks was a breeze—just scan the QR code on the table to pay. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. A big thank you to everyone involved. We will definitely come back the next time we’re in the area.

We arrived just fancying a meal after a nice day out . We asked if we could sit anywhere and was told there was a table round the corner, there was a fair few people in the area. On viewing the menu. Unfortunately it was limited to my partner's requirements. Does not eat onion, leek and a few other items. Mind you may pubs have similar menus so we unfortunately left. Shame there was not more Verity. Must go back and try just the beers next time.

Excruciatingly slow service. Ordered sharing starter but at 7pm on a Friday night they had already run out. Had a pate instead which was ok and a mushrooms which was nice and tasty. Then both had burgers. They took a long time to arrive and we're almost charcoal. We were not given any cutlery and as we couldn't attract any attention from the staff, had to eat our meal with our hands. By the time we got our drinks we had finished our meal. Would definitely not go to this pub again.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere at the restaurant. The staff was friendly but not overly intrusive. During our four-day stay in the area, we visited the pub four times. On Mother's Sunday, I ordered the roast beef dinner, and I honestly wish I had chosen something else. The beef was tough and had quite a bit of gristle, while the potatoes were on the dry side. However, the Yorkshire pudding was fantastic. Despite that, I still couldn't resist coming back later in the evening for another pint.

"So we went to the restaurant with some friends the other day. I dropped my partner and her friend at the entrance until I parked since there is no parking in front of the restaurant and one of them is pregnant. It took me a total of 19 minutes to park the car and het back to the restaurant during those 10 minutes the waiter went twice to ask them if they'd like something to drink and although they initially replied that they were waiting for their partners he sent the manager out the bar to ask them in a more intimidating way and so they ordered water. Highlighting that this happened in between 10 minutes. When we arrived at the restaurant, we ordered the roasted bread, which you can actually see it wasn't roasted or warm. By the time our mains arrived the table next to us was empty and remained empty for until the time we left so made me question why the staff asked my partner a few times on what they would have making it look as they were in a hurry since there was ppenty of sitting space within the restaurant. During the whole time we were in the restaurant, there were a few flies around us which you wouldn't really expect in an indoor space restaurant of this price point. The food was amazing. We had 2 of the hake fillet and the sea bream. On the other hand my friend who ordered the sea bream was expecting it this with asparagus but instead it came with another green which would be nice to know from before. I got a creme brulee for a desert, the short bread biscuit was amazing the top of the creme was crunchy but yhe inside could have used some extra taste. All in all, if the service wasn't this poor and the flies weren't present, this review could have been way more positive."
