"Upon entering the lounge, we were transported back to the 1940s with its vintage look and menus from the era. We had heard great reviews about this place and were excited for a unique dining experience for a birthday celebration. The atmosphere was certainly unique as we giggled hysterically for 15 minutes before being escorted to the restaurant, which felt more like a front room in a residential care home. The decor consisted of mismatched pictures and curtains that seemed fragile. Despite the lack of music, we enjoyed our starters of spinach feta tart, pate, and avocado salad. The lentil soup had a beautiful smoked aroma, giving us time to let our food digest before our mains arrived. The beef with vegetables and potatoes, as well as the salmon with a pesto crust, were served with a bowl of shared vegetables and potatoes. The cauliflower cheese melted in our mouths (literally) and seemed more suitable for residents with no teeth. The homemade profiteroles at the dessert buffet were delicious, although we wished for some pouring cream. The tea and coffee were served at a suitable room temperature, and the waitresses were lovely. Despite some quirks, such as the lights going out for my birthday cake, we found the experience unforgettable. With a revamp and facelift, this place has the potential to shine, especially since the chef prepares everything from scratch. Overall, a memorable dining experience worth trying."

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit although it had been many years since our last visit but equally as good the food was delicious.

Lovely friendly country house restaurant with a simple Scottish menu. Great for private parties up to 20 where you get super service. Take your own wine with no corkage to pay. Think they even have a limited B B offer as well. Altogether home from home!

We have been to this family-run restaurant many times over the last few years, most recently for a family birthday, and it has always been a pleasure. Very good value for money, interesting choice of well-cooked dishes, and an all you can eat dessert buffet to die for.

Struther Farmhouse is a unique dining experience. For £30, you can enjoy a set menu with 4 courses and access to an all-you-can-eat dessert table. You can also bring your own drinks. The service is excellent, the atmosphere is one-of-a-kind, and they cater well to vegetarians. I highly recommend trying it out.

My husband and I tried this restaurant for the first time for dinner and were impressed by the food and service. The atmosphere was cozy, relaxed, and welcoming. There were plenty of options on the menu, and every dish was delicious. We appreciated the fact that it's BYOB, so we could enjoy our own favorite drinks. We will definitely be returning. Fantastic.

Whilst visiting friends locally we ere taken to the restaurant, what a lovely place, more homely than my front room, the staff we all helpful, the food was great, wonderful portions and plenty of choice, all the food was well cooked and the vegetables were lovely, id describe the food as proper cooking, Bertha obviously believes in good customer service, it shows, great place to eat.

Took my mum here for their Afternoon Tea, which was offered as part of the Dunlop Gala Week events. The dining room was homely and spotlessly clean. We had an assortment of very fresh and well-filled sandwiches, sausage rolls, scones with cream-and-homemade jam, shortbread and tablet, a large cafetière of coffee, plus an assortment of cakes, which we had to take away in a ‘doggy bag’! £12.50 per head, which we thought was great value. Staff were attentive and friendly. We loved it!

"My husband and I bought an itison voucher for brunch for £29 for The Sorn Inn. When we arrived at 12 we were the only ones in the restaurant. I ordered the eggs benedict with the sauce on the side and my husband ordered the full scottish breakfast. We had to wait a while, I'm unsure how long exactly but we weren't too bothered as we thought our food was all being made fresh. When it arrived, my husband's food look really nice. No complaints there. My eggs benedict consisted of 2 cold toasted slices of bloomer bread. One with 1 slice of fried bacon on it and the other with 1 poached egg. The hollandaise sauce was in fact mayonnaise. I called the waitress over and told her this wasn't what I ordered. I ordered eggs benedict which was stated on the menu as a toasted muffin, ham and poached eggs with a hollandaise sauce. She was lovely. She apologised and said she would take it back to the kitchen. After she done this she returned and said that there was no muffins left and would I like to order something else. By this point my husband was halfway through his breakfast. Why was eggs benedict even on the menu if there were no muffins?? I told the waitress I would have the full scottish breakfast then. By this time there was 2 other tables filled and the eggs benedictwas still being sold. Our waitress brought me over another coffee while I waited on my breakfast. It wasn't quick. It was alright when it arrived. But not great. The toast was still cold and there wasn't any butter. Zoe our waitress was wonderful. Whatever the owners are paying her, just isn't enough. She was apologetic, attentive and calm under pressure. Why didn't the chef tell Zoe to take the eggs benedict off the menu as it was still being sold when we were leaving. What kind of chef thinks cold toast, bacon and mayo is eggs benedict? We have been to the Sorn Inn on numerous times before and the food has been outstanding. Such a shame as we do like to eat out and support local and smaller restaurants but we won't be hurrying back."
