"We’ve given this restaurant five star reviews in the past but on this occasion it wasn’t up to scratch. Service is always good but the Ciabattas were really disappointing. The Bacon Brie one barely had any Brie on it and any establishment in Lincolnshire serving up a sausage Ciabatta like the one we had here needs to take a good look at itself. Lincolnshire is renowned for its sausages and the menu proudly displays the name of the butchers from where they were sourced. I’m not sure that they were ever going to be great Lincs sausages compared to what’s available in nearby Boston but it seemed like they had been ruined by being cooked earlier and either kept warm or reheated which resulted in a rubbery barely warm disappointment."

"Visited today for breakfast. Had two lattes, hubby had sausage baguette with mushrooms and I’d have loved a bacon/egg baguette but they only do smoked bacon which I don’t like. I ordered poached eggs on toast instead. Lattes were nice, food came promptly and poached eggs were lovely but only got one small piece of thin sourdough toast. I thought it’d be two slices, one per egg, especially for the price. Not a disaster but I was quite surprised. Food was very nice, we sat outside and it’s dog friendly so I’d recommend for a visit but next time I’d ask for more toast!!"

"Had my first experience at Woodlands cafe this morning after spending a night in Woodland Spa and oh my goodness, I knew I was in for a treat when there was a queue before opening time and I was not disappointed! What a local treasure this cafe is, I’m envious of the locals that have this on their doorstep. Everything from the quaint decor, to the amazing customer service and not to mention the fantastic options the menu has to offer. I went for the Woodland Breakfast and I could not fault it any way whatsoever. The coffee served was exquisite so much so I couldn’t help take away a bag of coffee beans that is available to buy in the cafe. The cafe offers an array of fresh cakes and plenty other options to enjoy after your breakfast or lunch or simply just pop in for a wee afternoon tea coffee and sweet treat! With indoor or outdoor seating to choose from you’ll never be disappointed and it’s an absolute must to visit if you’re in the area or just passing through and also being dog friendly is a huge bonus! Five stars from me Kate Leanne and all the staff made us feel super welcome and creat such a friendly and happy atmosphere, nothing is too much trouble at Woodlands Cafe!"

"This used to be our favourite Indian anywhere but unfortunately during our last visit (we haven’t been for a couple of years) we found it was just average. The food was absolutely fine but not as good as it used to be and the soft drinks tasted funny. Staff also didn’t seem as friendly as during previous visits. Shame as for the amount we paid we won’t be rushing back."

"We come here relatively often because we live in Market Rasen it’s a good place to drop in for lunch because they do a good range of sandwiches and soups etc. at lunch. However, the bar manager is extremely rude and ruins the experience which is otherwise alright. We went up to order and he was being very harsh with a member of the bar staff right in front of us he was complaining that the pint she pulled was bad and being very patronising. The bartender who served us seemed quite distracted taking our order and got a few little things wrong, but nothing too serious. We sat and waited in the snug.. and just kept waiting. We were sat for a total of 45 minutes waiting for sandwiches bear in mind before we said anything, and the bar manager’s response was, ‘yes you will have a long wait because we’re very busy.’ We assumed he meant to restaurant because it was quiet in the bar area. Then he said we were told before ordering that it would be at least half an hour, which we said wasn’t true, and he asked for confirmation from the bartender who said she didn’t know anything about there being a long wait time. He then fell back to the excuse that it said there would be a 45 minute wait on the menu, but we looked and it wasn’t there. When he finally brought the food, we mentioned that it didn’t say anything, and he said ‘it will do’ and spent a while looking at the menu seemingly flabbergasted with the fact that I could, in fact, read. He put it down to it being on the other menu instead, but given that we hadn’t looked at that one as it is for larger meals, it was irrelevant. We also asked for an extra plate and he never brought it but we were fed up with trying to argue at that point. If we hadn’t have paid at the bar before eating we would have just walked out not because the food wasn’t fine, but because he absolutely refused to apologise, take any responsibility, or do the courteous thing and offer us a round of drinks as a gesture of goodwill."
