"We had a table booked for 11 people at 13:00 for the set Sunday lunch menu (beef or asparagus and mint tart). We were going to have 8 vegetarian options and 3 beefs, but were told there weren't enough vegetarian portions. There were a total of 5 vegetarians among us, and some people that don't like beef. 3 people decided to change to the beef option, but there still weren't enough vegetarian options. I find it absolutely ridiculous that there were only 3 vegetarian tarts available at 13:00. When asked if we could supplement the tart with extra vegetables, we were denied. Absolutely horrible service and a severe lack of preparation. We decided to leave and won't come back. Visited here for the first time recently. What a great pub. Fantastic choice of ales in a nice environment. We enjoyed sitting by the open fire. Will be back soon.

They've always got a really good selection of craft ales, but for me, I find it uncomfortable drinking there. But I like to pop in now and again. I have heard the Sunday Roast is worth trying. Price per person: £1–10
