"Great place to visit for a help yourself Sunday Carvery caters for meat eaters, vegetarian and vegans. £13.50 for the carvery was also reasonable. More importantly food quality was great with a good choice. Lots of different veg, best Yorkshire puddings we've had for ages, plenty of veg to choose from, including peas, cauliflower cheese, carrots, parsnips/turnips, roast potatoes (very good! , lots of gravy and cranberry sauce. Three meats on offer, turkey, beef and pork. Turkey was very nice, my beef was OK but my wife's said the majority of her beef was quite tough, which was left. We are quite particular with beef. Two of our group had nut roast which was very good apparently. Very friendly staff most accommodating and helpful. Definitely recommend this place and we'll be back we've been a few times!"

A superb dinner at sensible prices unlike the nearby Rowbarge where I went last night. Excellent spicy bruschetta. Sumptuous roast beef with trimmings and tastily presented ice cream. Good hit coffee too. The Rowbarge has a river alongside while the Angel only has the A4 but there’s no doubt where to eat!

Visited today with friends for the first time. Great pub with friendly staff and a great Sunday carvery. Well worth the money. We sat out in the garden which is kept lovely with plenty of benches for family’s and friends. Will recommend to friends who may be passing Woolhampton in there narrowboats. Such good value for money. Thank you to everybody.

Lovely lunch with family. Friendly service and great food. I have been on a Sunday for carvery and also during the week and both times the roast dinner was lovely! My mum said it was the best goats cheese and onion tart she ever had! We enquired about a family function while we were there and Andy could not have been more helpful. Finally, fantastic vegetarian options

What makes a good pub experience? Well, a lot of things! Park, bus or train- Great food Good beer and drinks selection Pub experience and restaurant experience- very rare nowadays! Double Choices, live music frequently, TV Sport available in a snug area! Most important, staff, locals, atmosphere! Great landlord and staff that know how to run a pub that you want to go back to!

We went as a family for the curry special night on the Thursday. We were very much looked after by the whole staff who took pleasure in making us feel welcome. First time I had been there and will defo go again. The 4 course curry special was so nice! Spicy as expected!!!!! Have been there again since for a drink and was served without issue by the lush fireplace. Nice and warm! Will be rocking up there again soon!

Another visit to the Angel Woolhampton and not disappointed. A really warm welcome and met with cuddles for our dog. Wife and I visited on a Thursday evening so they were not too busy. Did not book a table in advance but they found a good table where we could sit with our dog. A very pleasant envirionment to eat with a wide selection of ales and wine. Our dog was really spoilt and was so well behaved. Will definitely visit again, I have not hesitation in recommending the Angel. BTW easy parking and an excellent location.

We were a party of 9 last night at The Angel . The bar staff and lady who took me to the table were friendly and helpful. But the meal was so rushed ! There was no time to breathe between courses ! They started clearing the table before people had finished. People asked for coffee at 10 o’clock and were told the machine had been switched off . It would take 30/40 mins for it to heat up again !! They obviously wanted us out because the music was turned off at 11 ! The food was nice although the crème brûlée didn’t have the crispy sugar top so was more of an orange posset . It was a bit disappointing!

Just wanted a simple veggie roast with all the trimmings. Received a pile of either Aunt Bessie's or Brake Bros. potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. Big pile of al dente veg, which wasn't an issue. Tasty beef gravy....and a freezing cold nut roast. I had put a lot of English mustard on the nut roast before I realised it was cold. It was so chilled that I panicked and spat it back on the plate. When I brought it to the serving staff's attention they apologized and took it back to the kitchen. It came back a few minutes later, with congealed mustard and the food that I'd spat out, now piping hot. I felt so sick that I refused anything else on the menu, having been told it would take a long time to...

"Went here to celebrate a couple of friends birthdays and had a very mixed evening. It was a Monday night so it was quiet and we were one of only a handful of tables. We were a party of four and there were no tables any larger than ours in that evening. We were seated quickly and that was about the one and only thing that happened all night with any kind of urgency. Our orders were taken and we were waiting 20 minutes or more for our first round of drinks. About half way through this, we were informed that three of the four meals we had ordered were sold out (something you'd think we'd have been informed of at the time of ordering . We thought we could quench our thirst with some water whilst waiting for our drinks but sadly no one ever came over to refill our glasses. When the food finally arrived it was delicious and I couldn't fault it at all (even if it wasn't my first choice on the menu! , so that made up for lack of service. We ordered a dessert each although only 3 of them arrived. My friend had to ask for her coffee which also didn't have any signs of showing and then when her dessert didn't show she just gave up on it (it was never put through the system . I ordered a glass of red wine, specifying the wine and was given a glass of what I assume was house red at least I wasn't mis charged for it as it was cheaper than the one I ordered! Even paying the bill was an ordeal, taking us a while to get it and then having to go through line by line to see if any of the food we ordered and didn't get hadn't been taken off (there was one additional meal on the bill . All in all a bit of a shambles but at least the delicious food and the wonderful company meant it didn't dampen our evening too much. Don't think I'd come back on a quiet night again, seems the service staff take it as a sign to disappear."
